truly touching solo
your descending broken chords are unique and descriptive here - and appropriate to the subject matter - this is a very special and truly touching and tasteful solo - I especially like the cluster-picked chords around 2:15 . . .ooh the ending chord - minor/major/minor 9 - yes ! scott horwath

Hurricane Report
I just saw the hurricane season report on CNN. Outside of the potential of the surges pushing the oil further into the marshes and shorelines, as well as interrupting the cleanup efforts, the meteorologist stated that there WILL NOT be any oil in the rain. Let's hope he's correct!

Beautiful....
The tone of your guitar rings with pathos... really penetrates the heart and mind. I like especially your patient spacing of notes, chords, and spaces. Very well done, Mark.

you have such a gift, Mark
for bring music to the place it needs to go. This is a wonderful, sad expression of the loss that has and is occurring, as we speak.

Beautiful fret work and feelings Mark.

It's easy...
...being familiar with the dry Stunkel wit, to forget what I also know, which is the heart and soul that you bring to music, and life, and family, and the things you care about....

This brings me right back there....

The recording here is deep and rich, and the tune is really nicely paced. Lots of chime to it. Composition and playing are right in there.

And that photograph breaks my heart...

Thanks for this, Mark...

Yes, upsetting
Haunting music. And sad. It's upsetting to think of the people who will be directly affected by this disaster. Still the bigger tragedy to me is the suffering of animals--like that poor bird--forced to endure a world over-run with crafty, clumsy, greedy apes who wreck things on a large scale.

At least some of us can make good music. Nice work, Mark.

I feel the same way
I visit the Gulf at least once a year. I love the area and I'm unhappy to see what has happend. I've tried to figure out how I could make a difference. If only I were an engineer or a scientist then maybe I could help find a profitable alternative. Only then would the large corporations who control this country get involved. Thanks for sharing.

Its like
we are all numb and the shocks keep coming, how small man really is his own feet fail to lead. The pride of these companies seem to trample and destroy, so a few can rest in thier fancy homes, as long as profits go up! Where will they go when they have ruined everything , the earth becomes a small place,

capturing a slow, thoughtful beautiful momenet
The music reminds us to slow down, think, and enjoy the beauty of your playing.

Unfortunately it is now (once again) too late for anyone to slow down and think of the ramifications of greed without safeguards. This will be another HUGE kick in the stomach of mother earth and her inhabitants. Perhaps as payment, every human should spend a week, stopping what they do, and helping clean up the spill that their need for oil created. We will all be paying for this in horrible ways, for a long time.

A fitting lament for a tragedy. Thank you for bringing attention to the black death.

ttfn,
Drakonis

Haunting and sincere
you should send a copy to the b******s at BP and make them play it in all their fuel station forecourts by way of apology, but no,having spent 5 weeks sat on their corporately loathsome backsides bickering and arguing as to whose fault it was really they finally pull their finger out and put a stop to it.And you can bet that they will try and
offload all losses ,costs for cleaning up and any compensation that they have to pay on us.

Soul Music
The wide spacing between the melody and arpeggio accompaniment remind me a bit of Tárrega, and the harmony sometimes reminds me of a Brazilian composer, but I can't think of the name right now. Definitely feels like classical guitar music. Anyway, this is beautiful, poignant, soulful, very moving, and just darn good music. We are fortunate that you share this wonderful music with us. Thank you.
