Description
Arranged: 13-02-2010
Sakhalin island blues.
I lived on the island for about 6 year (when I was teenager) and took guitar in my hands for the first time there. This blues progression was the first one I learnt on bass strings.

I like it.
Perfect for a slow, hot cheek to cheek dance in a steamy, dark nightclub. :)

Sakhalin blues
Very interesting approach to a minor blues. I was waiting for that guitar you played on the island. Oh well, the piano and percussion made up for it.

the island guitar
That was more than twenty years ago and I only remember that one solder at the military base I lived at taught me how play this on three bass strings. :-) Sorry if I failed your expectations.

Was I trying to confuse? :-)
NO! :-) I just changed the description of the song. I meant I learned chords progression on bass strings.
Thank you very much for listenning and reading my song descriptions.
There is A LOT for me to learn and may be one day I will express it in a real guitar blues or any other form of music. So far all I do is simple.
Thanks.

Indie Film Ready
This would work for some dark comedy indie film. The scene: (the maid is removing the master of the houses clothes and dumping him naked into the estate pool , then she is casually lighting a cigarette and tosses the match into the pool which immediately ingnites the whole pool on fire, revealing that it is infact full of gasoline, end scene and end song. Totally works, Nice one.

Cigarette
I had a comment with vodka. Now it goes to cigarettes and gasoline in the pool.
IMAGINATION. Imagination.
:-) I composed something like windy weather, salty sea wind on the lips, cloudy day real blues.

Cold and blue
Sakhalin is a cold island, isn't it? A good one for blues. :-) The accordian and male choir reminds me a little of the "Red Army Chorus"... this has a Russian Blues sound, a good thing! I like it.

Cold and blue
Thanks. You got right into it. Although Sakhalin island part where I lived is close to Japan and might be considered South of Russia it is rather cold.
Those male choir voices are serious military and tough fisherman according to the idea of mine :-) So you were close twice.

Thanks anyway for listening and commenting.

monasterial chant..
what sounds like chanting monks in a monastery adds unusual twists and turns to this island /trance-like quality tango.....
ooppym said 2671 days ago (June 27th, 2010)
Thanks for
defining the genre. :-) I was confused to post it to "blues" myself.
