Description
I think there should be an "I have no clue" genre. It's probably pretty lame to put "Other" but seriously, I have no clue what category this would fall under.

It's been awhile since I've posted, so here goes nothing. This one is a mixture of loops blended with Voshish creative "input". With about five or so different attempts, I'm still trying to find a suitable ending.

I look forward to and appreciate hearing you guys/gals thoughts and feedback and I hope you enjoy it. Thanks!

Stop, Drop, and Roll
This title made me think about my niece who actually used the cliche advice when the back of her shirt caught on fire...enough about me. I like this song's flow, kinda has some Bjork moments. Maybe put the sound of fire in there somewhere?

Sweet!
I once caught my hair on fire, downtown Anchorage in the middle of a convention. Yeah, a little scary but mostly, just embarrassing! LOL!

Thank you papag - what a compliment (Bjork)! The fire element seems like it would be a great addition to this...a little crackling and whooshing? I like!!

DD...
Ahhh, thanks Doof! I had lots of fun making this one and I know, it's been too long, hasn't it? I need to catch up on yours too!
TracyVosh said 2454 days ago (July 10th, 2010)
Backwards
Ok, it won't let me reply to the correct one so this is going to be backwards or upside down. That is so cool, and the greatest compliment that your son wanted to hear it again!!

Stop, Drop and Roll
Very cool and creative!

Ending? Just keep the fade out and ignore Eduard when he gives you crap about it!

HA!
Thank you so much, alackbass. Hilarious...I gotta say! I'm now extremely curious to hear Eduard's reaction on the fade out.

Stop, Drop, Roll
you REALLY caught your hair on fire?? i agree with papag about the bjork moments in here and it sounds like you tamed that bass really well tracy! love your vocals in here (voshish creative input - lol) - great job!

YES!
Apparently, my Mother did not teach me the dangers of playing with lighters close to the head! Fire - very dangerous!!

That's so cool! I never really got into Bjork much but have always respected her immensely as a creative and individualistic artist.

Thank you Karen. I just love hearing your feedback, it always makes me smile!

andrew is right, eduard won't like it - he's WRONG!

Always a pleasure
this is quite upbeat for you though it has darker moments. Has a new genre feeling to it, you are on to something. The added minimal vox work, you going to brake out into a full flow one day? Interesting composition, i enjoyed it as with all your others.

One day?
Like a turtle that takes 2 days to cross 10 feet, "I think I can, I think I can." It's all baby steps for me...from "ha" to who knows?

Very much appreciated Steve, thank you. I have always admired your work!
PrototypeEightyOne said 2454 days ago (July 10th, 2010)
yo
Funky track Vosh, I like how it bounces along with that bass. Those bongo hits are sweet, and the percs have this swing feel to it. Nice vocal tidbits too, cool stuff.

Yo Jay
Thank you Jayyyy! I think I'm starting to get more used to creating sounds with the keys to spice up my music, thanks to you. You've been so helpful and supportive along the way. It means a lot to me!
drakonis said 2454 days ago (July 10th, 2010)
Escape from the pyramid
The soundtrack starts, and in a dusty shaft of light, you see movement in the dark corners, inside a chamber of the pyramid. The pharaoh's possessions, after thousands of years of captivity, are alive. The toys and statues and furniture are creating their own pyramid inside, climbing toward the shaft of light, trying to escape the tomb.

Quirky, weird, and alluring, this is great music to accompany the above scene.

As for the fade-out ending, I would s#gges# ## # ### ### ###, ### ## #####!

Hey, that's weird, I know I typed a suggestion up there, but some long stick with the head of Anubis on it reached up and blotted it out! OK, I won't argue with Anubis (always a BAD idea)... so I'll go along with Andrew and say that the ending is just fine, fading out like that. (Looks nervously over his shoulder.)

ttfn,
Drakonis

Wow Eduard, you have quite an imagination on you...that description had me cracking up.
richard13 said 2454 days ago (July 10th, 2010)
I don't know what Eduard has been imbibing
but this isn't about pyramids. It's about a contemporary teddy bear's picnic, and the teddys are into tribal-goth (and a little chanting). Can't you hear it?

Chanting teddy bears
at a picnic...hmmmm? I like it and yes, I can hear it now. Thank you Richard, for the awesome visual! I will never think of teddy bears the same.

guygrooves said 2454 days ago (July 10th, 2010)
You should
offer this up in open collabs as well. There is room for more.. maybe some Bjork like lyrics or a lead synth. Amongst the coolest tracks I have heard in a while all on its own. Great piece Tracy. Nice to see ya back round here.
Peace

Yeah, I added in my own bass (from the keyboard, of course) to give it more of an interesting sound, hoping it would work and it seems it did. I'm so glad you enjoyed it!

kassia said 2452 days ago (July 12th, 2010)
this is very cool!
i love the opening and then the beats kick in and this just takes off. what is most impressive about this piece is that you slide so smoothly from one mood and sound to another. even though the song has distinct "sections" to it, it all comes together excellently as a whole. and my partner kate, who is listening from the other room, just shouted out "that's a good song!" so, there ya go! really tracy, this is great. a cool energy and crystal clear production. love the "ha"s. my vote would be for a stronger ending. something short and to the point but definitive. that's just me. you're awesome.

Kassia
Thank you sooo much Kassia, that makes me feel good, seriously! I'm thrilled that you like it and tell your honey Kate thank you as well. It made me smile ear to ear when you said that it caught her attention from the other room...now, THAT is awesome!

Thank you again for checking it out. I agree with a much stronger ending, I kept trying and trying for different endings until I finally just threw my hands up and thought I'd see what you all thought.

YES!
Great groove to this one! Sounds very contemporary. As far as genre I would say Dance-Club fits it the best even though this isn't really an ass-shaking kind of song. I like this one a lot. It's really laid back in spots and just flows compositionally really nicely. Awesome job Tracy!
