Description
I've been MIA (not the pop star, just Missing In Action) for a while-- doing my best to put together some more polished mixes of songs many of you already heard and commented on. Here's one for your enjoyment--considerably changed since its last posting (hopefully for the better!).

I actually put nine tunes together in an album, called "Carry You Out of My Sight." I used TuneCore to upload it and it's already on iTunes(!) and making its way elsewhere through the web. But if you're interested you can get it FREE at my website (www.michaelkoppenheffer.com), at least for a little while.

If you were so inclined, you could also find it on iTunes and leave a nice review.:)

Good to hear you again Michael!
Man, you know how to sell a lyric! Theme, lyrics, delivery and music--all stellar. It was well worth the wait. Thanks again Michael!

So nice to catch up
Well, I didn't know this song (I'm pretty much a newcomer). You come back with an excellent song ! The only request I would make, if possible posting the lyrics as well. It's very nice to hear you again.

when Charles first tried to
get me to listen to macjams, you were the artist he first turned me onto, and I almost didn't join because I was intimidated by your talent, I love singer/songwriter/musicians and aspire to be that, honestly now when I hear your stuff it inspires me to up my game, this is stellar! I agree that you should post the lyrics.

So nice! So Good!
It's so great to hear you in your new and improved recordings....but honestly, I thought your old recordings were 'so great' too! Please don't go away again! This is a super grand re-entrance.

i can tell you why
liking your stylings - and lyrics -
full and sparkling - and moreover - emphasis is on the meaningful - and thought-provoking -
this humanistic conversive yet uniquely melodic placement of lyrics highlights them more - and choice of verse vocal pitch alteration and harmony is nice - building-up - memorable

Wierd, my fav went through
but my comment... not so much. I really like this. You have built the arrangement up huge. Very nice work. A very different vibe from your man with a guitar sound but still excellent!

good stuff
phrasing in the vocals is exemplary, similar lilt to dylan

sometimes, though, the words that you accentuate aren't worth accentuating, and the ones you don't are more worthy. Lyrics are fairly strong, but could use some tightening. Music very strong, although I felt the guitar was slightly overdramatic at times. Either way, excellent piece overall.

What is obvious
is your energy and commitment to conveying the mood and meaning behind the words. You really love sharing your music.. as a true performer must. Enjoyed your narrative and your very fine tuned delivery. Quite a talent. Many thanks. :)

This one reminds me of Billy Joel some. Interesting drums, they break things up a bit.
Strong lyric, nice hook. Vocs and harmonies are nice. A-Rod will be pissed if he hears it though.

Love the Lilt
This is so polished and well-put together! I love the folksy lilt this song has. There is a whole lot of interest, between the combination of instruments, the momentum of the chord progressions, and the lyrics. Great job!

i'm so inclined..
i really like the style, kind of a shambling modern folk intertwined with indie balladeering, that description probably makes no sense but i'm hearing old springsteen, michael penn, and trouble with sweeney all at once. And you've got the same thing going on lyrically, a traditional framework but lots of pop culture. I like it.

i like the graphic too. are you a pat o'brian fan? i've convinced myself that aubrey and maturin are real. if you don't know what i'm talking about then you probably just thought the picture was cool.

Glad to hear another song from you. This one has some folk rock classic feel in it ... really well done. The singing almost reminds me of some Tom Petty or G.Harrison works. The sound seems to me to have a little bit too mid range. I think a gentle touch on equalization may make the sound a bit more crispy and bring out some of the instruments. Alltogether great job and nice listen, thanks!

Very nice Billy Joel (Piano Man) feel mixed with some interesting lyrics. An interesting commentary on pop culture. Very cool drum track. I like the a cappella part.

wow
Very cool discovery to find this gem of a song.
I dig the cool progression of this song, and your voice is one of the better male ones I have heard at this place. Seems perfect for this style.

I like the way the drums are programmed. The guitar sound is great. It all seems very pro in here:)

hi michael. yes...an interesting new departure from man and guitar. this has great commercial appeal, and your lyrics and vocal delivery are spot-on as usual. your harmonies are wonderful (but then i guess i would say that). polished production and a perfectly resolved ending. rock on dude.

Everything works so well here.
Koppenhefer rules! This is perfectly poignant and I feel so comforted in its world despite the sadness. Kind of how "Carry You Out of My Sight" is a beautiful image and phrase despite the loss. Everything you composed, arranged and produced -- everything about this song works so well.
