Description
For lack of a better genre:
Rather than folk-rock (closest option), this is more of a sixties pop-rock throwback. It's a remix of a 2007 song that I took down in 2008. Just a moment in time of my music-memory. Some day, maybe a full-on re-recording. Until then,
Slip-sliding along, as it were.

Vocal, guitar, keyboard, bass: moi.
drums: loopy again.

Lyrics
Just Being With You
Music & Lyrics by Jack Miller 2007

Where can I go? G
What can I do? Em
I’m so in love G
Just being with you. Em

I can’t imagine it being much better. C - G
Don’t want to change unless I can be with you. C – G - D

What can you do? G
Where can you flee? Em
My lucky day G
You’re stuck on me. Em

Somebody wake me and tell me this isn’t a dream. C - G
Cause I look back on all these years and it’s hard to believe. C -G
But then I look into your eyes and then I can tell, C - G

What we’ve got is real. Em
Some would say the real deal. Am
But all I saying is I want nobody but you. C - D
… So tell me

Where can I go?
What can I do?
I’m so in love
Just being with you.

I can’t imagine it being much better.
Don’t want to change unless I can be with you.

[Instrumental Break]

When you’re away
I talk to the walls.
If they could speak
They’d tell you all.
I can’t imagine it being much better.
Don’t want to change unless I can be with you.

Where can I go?
What can I do?
I’m so in love
Just being with you.

Somebody wake me and tell me this isn’t a dream.
Cause I look back on all these years and it’s hard to believe.
But then I look into your eyes and then I can see,

What we’ve got is real.
Some would say the real deal.
But all I saying is I want nobody but you.
… So tell me

Where can I go?
What can I do?
I’m so in love
Just being with you….

Hijack!
.... er ... Hi Jack ;)
Nice tune - maybe I remember it from 08? I'd probably bring up the guitar to add to the rhythm, but that's a personal thing only.
Nice post!
Cheers from Oz,
Neil

yeah
What Neil said :)

and, if you have a mind to add a jingly-jangly 12-string sound, there would be no doubt about it being in the folk-rock genre.

Nice tune Jack.

HiNeil!
...
It's originally from 2007, but it survived until August 2008. I'll give your suggestion a try. Thanks, and best to you.

Nice tune. Catchy melody. I would boost the drums. They seem a bit distant.

sixties feel...
I'm a child of the sixties music. I grew up on the music scene of 1963-1970. What a time. Makes my day that you liked this retro-tune. Thanks.

Well for starters the title caught my attention. The name sounds sweet. And the song continued that first impression! I'd almost say it has an 80s feel to it, like the not so synthy or pop stuff. I like the soft vocals and the nice grooving drums and the backing instruments! Nice work!

So Cal
I really enjoy these happy little love songs. Fine as it is with your instrumentation, and the suggestion about the 12 string would enrich it even more. It's good to hear your older songs again.:-)

smooth!
yeah i pick up a bit of 60's pop. but i think that's a good thing, plus, i tend to hear upcoming bands that are wearing the 60's style on their sleeves..... melodic in a moody blues style that works very well on this tune.

Vic, I confess. I admit. I'm just glad there are few out there like you that like the ride back. Best decade for music? Discuss among yourselves......

Nice tune, Jack...
I like the organ chords throughout.... I'd be with Neil and bring up a little clean rhythm guitar against the organ.... Snow's idea of an electric 12-string's not bad either.... Just gotta make sure not to get in the way of that front 'n center vocal line.... I think your vocal really carries this, and I like the rise to the falsetto at the end of some of the lines...

Loved it
This song reminds me of some of the songs a friend of mine use to write. Sounds like a mix of Lennon and Petty to me. Enjoyed the sync through my iPhone on the cruise to work this morning.

Jack,
Definite throwback feel. I often think of doing some old stuff like this. It definitely brings me back. I like the idea of the twelve string and some flat piked rotary chords filling out the background.
