Mary's Sister (with Mark Deskin)

Description
Mary's Sister is special to me for several reasons. It's the first song I ever wrote and recorded with producer extraordinnaire, Mark Deskin (also known as Mick D). We decided the song would have a social conscious to it. I was totally unaware that it was about my brother, Barry. Bipolarism runs in my family. At the age of 15 Barry (an identical twin) ran away from home two days before Christmas. He was eventually shot and killed by the police who happened to be my dad's colleagues. I never processed that situation. Mary's Sister is about a girl who has a sister named Mary who runs away from home because she is mentally ill.. Peace!

Lyrics
Born on a cold day in July. She was always torn between the darkness and the light. Never easy she would learn to take a flight. She left broken hearted with no end in sight. Nobody knows the pain of Mary's sister. How can you learn to live a lie. Nobody knows the pain of Mary' sister. Baby sister's gone and she never got to say goodbye.

No one can really feel your pain, but music gets us closer. Love your voice and the emotion you put into this. Terry

I noticed..
..the word 'bipolar' in the description, and in a way this strikes me as a very bipolar work, in that it carries off moods of both sunniness and bleakness, and the vocals come across as both effervescent and mournful, yet without making the piece seem contradictory or messy. It doesn't strike me as an easy way of getting the message across, but you pulled it off brilliantly, this is really excellent.
