Keep The Pace

Description
A song written on a cheap LP copy, tuned to open E, over the last week. My aim with this was to produce something with energy, particularly in the guitar parts, where I experimented out of my comfort zone in terms of strum patterns. I looked to try and create complimentary guitar parts across the stereo spectrum.
The lyrics are pretty stream of consciousness, put together in about half an hour. Overall I'm happy with the dynamics of the piece. I've filed it under "emo" as it sounds a little like some of those eye-linered US white boy guitar bands :-)
Play it loud and enjoy.

I think...
you could have fueled a rocket ship with the all the energy on display here. You vocal is really powerful here--but well controlled and adds greatly to an excellent track. Thanks for sharing!

Rocket fuel
... or lots of coffee? You decide. Thanks for the comments Michael, I'm really pleased with my voice on this one, so much so that I've created a preset from the setting I used. I think it could become a standard for my rock offerings.

Man that's classic. With a description like that how can I avoid this song?

Killer man. Nicely aggressive!

For being outside your zone it sure sounds pretty natural.

Cool vox too BTW.

Alright!
This is a really good one, I think possibly my favourite of yours so far.
I like it better than so-called "emo" bands.
to me it recalled a mix of the ramones and foo fighters in their better moments.
My favourite parts were the very hooky guitar intro / break parts, and the "ba da" backing vocals which I am always a sucker for.
bonus points for very cohesive mix and neat drum breaks.
hearty applause! dl'ed and ipodded.

I think you hit your stride
Based on what you were trying to accomplish. I know the term "Emo" has been really bantered over, bit in my experience Emo always has that whinny cool down part where it gets all sappy. But, what the heck do I know, this is your generations music and not mine (but I still enjoy it). Hope everything's cool from the surgery.

Warnings
You know Craig said that my CD should have had a warning on the front? "Warning, the nostalgia this induces may cause you to take up smoking again." Seems that whatever way you cut it my transatlantic take on rock gives you guys the willies! :-)
Thanks for the comments man, glad you liked it.

Kick out the jams
... there's something liberating about standing in the spare bedroom, LP copy in hand, mic stand in front of you and just giving it 110% percent like a bona fide rockstar. Especially when the postman can see you through the window. Cheers for the comments.

Hilarious artwork!
Crackin' tuneage!

It doesn't get a hell of a lot better than this Paddy. This is a fun listen. The guitars are crunchy and ferocious, and your vocals shine.

Rock on bro!

Be well!

You ... PUNK!
I love this. It reminds me of the Dead Boys' Sonic Reducer (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_KVTfuCh-sk&feature=fvw ... the studi version's a little slower.) That was one of my favorite tunes from the (real) punk era -- vs. today's fake-punk with its fake, marketed anarchy-logos as sold at the local suburban mall's Spencer's. Sorry about the rant -- you brung it outta me, bruv.

Great production
I've been in the dark too long - this rocks. Excellent dynamics and killer guitar tracks - but it's the drumming and bass that really makes this hop. Very cool.
