Description
I'm not sure Ambient is the right genre, but it sounded good at the time. This work is more soundscaping than anything else.

This is dedicated to a good friend who had to return long before all her friends and family were ready to let her go.

Spreading sound
I like the delicate touch that the bass and keys have and their interplay works well. Great sounds and a clear production. I wonder if the buildup is a bit too long, or if this song actually needs to be longer so that a more central melodic theme could be emphasized. I'm wishing for a more energetic release after the lightning strike effects. Maybe some kind of affirmational/ethereal theme to speak more to the passing of your friend.

Anyways. This is nice and has the potential to present itself on a more epic scale. Nice.

Thanks
That was great feedback, thanks so much! I'm not wild about the segment after the lightning either, but it just fell out of me, and I'm not willing to revisit those feelings yet (if you know what I mean). I also am not digging the bass, so it will be retracked once my "studio" is up and running again.

Cheers

Beef
Definitely has the Ambient feel. I think I would mirror Kicbal's comments. The production is very clean though. It seemed like a build that never really got going or climaxed. Still, a lot of Ambient pieces I notice don't always have a firm structure as much as they lay down an atmosphere.

Coolness
I would say it's Ambient, trippy ambient for sure. I like it, you've incorporated the sounds very well. The thunder effect & rain moments were very cool! Looking forward to hearing more stuff from you...

Spooky and eerie
I like this a lot. Nice progressions. Invokes a lot of imagery.

Cool mix and panning. I like the storm effect as well. Nicely done.

Ambiescent
Nice, somewhat sobering and thoughtful, reminds me in a way, of MissChaos's wistful stuff (takes you and I BOTH back to early MJ, no?)

I don't mind the slow buildup, although I'd probably move the rattlesnake shaker out of the far-right (I always have headphones on though) and soften it and move it closer to center with a teeny room reverb maybe. Otherwise, this is cool and moody.

ttfn,

Cool
Really like the vocal type effect around 1:30
Nice and spacious - kind of waiting for the big phat beat to kick in!
Good as is tho...

Beat it
Yeah, going to the phat beat has been my default action on so many pieces. I'm trying really hard to break out of established habits and change my thinking. It's hard!

Going Nowhere
Cool sounds. I was able to float with the tune. For me, that's a good sign.

Nowhere
Lovely and moody piece of work. Personally, I like slow builds. I admire patience in a composition --- as long as it's interesting, and it is. Very nice production. It does want to be longer, but still....
