shoobies remix w/ibstrat & symphony 101

Shoobies (t4s) w/Symphony 101 was originally posted for the Two 4 Summer Random Collab Challenge. Mark mentioned that he could imagine jamming over it but didn't have multi-tracking capability. I cut him a copy of the tune minus vocals with a count in and I guess he listened on phones while he recorded his amp. He then sent me two takes to work with and I did a quick mix using both - but also sent him two mixes with one guitar track each. He recently posted one of the straight through uncut single track versions - Shoobies Jam.
I knew I wasn't done yet - and just found the time to do a total remix of the song incorporating both of his tracks and adjusting the original song tracks to suit. Mark is so insanely talented that I had a hard time editing things out to create a trading-solos style mix. Here it is.

Excellent mix
Those guitars are also so great with that slooooow wah effect.

I see you opted for the fade out style ending.....controversial. :)

Jamming works
But, I think some ambient vocals would assist (female). Sounds good anyway.

Aw man....
An embarrassment of riches....

This is exquisite.... Headphone and speaker magic....

I still love the various permutations of the Shoebies track, but the dual Mark lines over the top just make it for me... I love Mark's phrasing, and I really like this mix...

shoobie doo
Sort of Bill Laswell / Talking Heads ( remain in light) era feel to this.
Moves and grooves along well and the guitar is top stuff

and you had once said...
you are not into re-mixes that much

Just enough, it seems! This thing grew another strong arm; good grief - almost a whole new texture. Great job, guys.

Uber coolness
The solo and the backing are simply spectacular. I got a Jan Hammer vibe while listening to this but then these are real guitars, not synths (and those synths sound great ;-).
Great mix. Thanks guys for taking the time. This one goes straight down to disk.
