Lyrics
oh where are have the blue skies gone
nobody knows
Or do they care
oh where has the green leaves blown
are they out on the lawn
or are they up in the air
where is the golden light that comes at the dusk
and again at the dawn
gray doesnt take too long to fade away

Excellent work Gaylen!

I kind of wish it was 30 minutes long!

Your vocals are outstanding as always and I am impressed with the guitar tone you're getting.

Nice one!

gaylen i totally LOVE this. the intro that opens up at 12 is such a tremendous leap into warm action. the simple sweet delivery on the vocals and the harmony is so easy on the ear. the second guitar riff at 36 is a gem....as is the one at 1.00. my only complaint of course is that it doesn't go further and longer. but fantastic...excellent...superlatives abound.

Gray "An Ode To Winter"
I agree with everything Julian said! Between the fingerpicked acoustics and wide spread vocal parts, there's a Yes during one of their early acoustic moments to this.

I know where
all the bloody green leaves have gone !! They 're all in my fishpond and the geriatric old buggers that swim with limps are not impressed.......This sums up my feelings exactly about the end of summer and the onset of autumn and winter, nice job.

Cheers

Gaylen
Really nice work.
Each sound is spaced so well it creates a really neat sound in headphones.
Nothing gets in the way of anything else. Excellently arranged.
Vocals are smooth and fit beautifully.

Gray "An Ode To Winter"
Like the fingerpicking. Sort of reminds me of "Friend Of The Devil". Nice imagery in the lyrics, and you show some versatility in the vocals in that none of your other efforts that I've listened to have been this softer type of song.

I like this softer side of Gaylen
The vulnerable vocal here works well. Cool vocal harmonies. Is that you in falsetto in the bkg? Nice work!

wonderful
change of pace. There's something inspiring about such a powerful voice showing such frailty. The timbre is wonderful, and so are the harmonies. You start doing some cool stuff with the guitar around 1 minute, the notes really hang in the air. Great work, man.

Dude I thought you were serious about the 30 minute song thing, so I made sure I had 30 minutes to spare before I sat down to listen. And what do I get? Less than 2 minutes! Mind you, a very classy, well played and performed 2 minutes, but STILL!

Well done, Gaylen - thanks for sharing with us!

Amazing
You did the vocals in one take and put it together in 30 mins. You are incredible. I love your warm soft side. Great job honey.

A moment captured
Such a nice build of instruments. I can definitely imagine how this could be a folky version of Tubular Bells with layered Celtic harp, an Irish flute, a fiddle, keys, hand drums and even autumn wind special effects. Very pleasant sound. Enjoyed every aspect. Dug the harmony. My favorite moment was at 1:01 when the syncopated high strings kicked in for a moment. (That's when I imagined the tubular bells coming next.)

Here I am thinking it was a 30 minute song. Meanwhile, it's under 2 minutes. Whatta tease!

Terrific sound for you, I like the mellowness, it's a really nice switch. Fab harmonies as well, great stuff!

Hey, this is, like Winter, crisp and fresh and beautiful... but what about some kind of ending broken strum of the I chord for completion? It seemed to end abruptly. Sweet stuff here.
