Lyrics
Ask me no questions I’ll tell you no lies
Asleep at the wheel As the crow flies
All dressed up with no where to go
Cut to the quick, it’s time for the show

Drunk as a skunk Dry as a bone
Hotter as a fox in a firestorm
In one fell swoop at the drop of a dime
A stitch in time saves nine

Know what’s up, Know where you stand
Know it like the back of your hand
Like chalk and cheese in the lion’s den
The sword is sometimes stronger than the pen

Make ends meet while marking time
Matter of fact it’s a marriage of minds
Mission critical missed the boat
Get your feet wet get your goat

I’ve said it before I’ll say it again
No matter who, why or when
It’s easy to do It’s easy to see
Take it to heart, Take it from me
It’s all about business It’s all in the bag
It’s a game of inches from riches to rags
I’ve said it before Here it comes again
It’s Lovely linguistic proverbial zen

Bend over backwards bend the rules
Shoot the breeze on a ship of fools
Swim with sharks while you swim upstream
Taking it easy or take it for the team

Tie the not till your tickled pink
It’s not who you are it’s what you eat
Turn on a dime turn over a new leaf
Trip on your tongue while it’s in your cheek

I've said it before I'll say it again
No matter who, why or when
It's easy to do, it's easy to see
Take it to heart Take it from me
(guitar)
I've said it before, here it comes again
It's lovely linguistic proverbial zen

Under the knife under her thumb
Under the table until the cows come home
Tighten your belt tie one on tonight
To be or not two wrongs don’t make a right

Take a breather, take a leak
Taken to task better take it easy
Make it by the skin of your teeth
Matter of fact freedom’s never free

I’ve said it before I’ll say it again
No matter who, why or when
It’s easy to do It’s easy to see
Take it to heart, Take it from me
It’s all about business It’s all in the bag
It’s a game of inches from riches to rags
I’ve said it before Here it comes again
It’s Lovely linguistic proverbial zen

I've said it before
I'll say it again.... I'm not around much.... but I always come when I get a Ray Kainz notice.... I love your whimsical style... you're very consistent in this... it gives your tunes a sense of intrigue... so your thumbprint goes way beyond the sonic stuff...

Sweet
Great flowing parts. All works well together and the vocal ideas are super.
Not much to say as it sounds complete. Maybe busy that bass up in places? I dunno, it's cool.

What's to improve? There's a great Squeeze vibe to this. I would have already downloaded if I could!

It's all good
but I especially like the parts that start with "drunk as a skunk . . ." "tie the knot . . ." All of those cliches make me think about the Jimmy Buffett song titled "Cliches" Good tune you put together!

it's all a question of whether your audience are going to cock a snoop (ha!) at a list of lyrical cliches. i like the tune, mix, production and the 'ray kainz' signature 'progressions', so in that respect it's a winner. i know you're just being clever with the lyrics...but it put me off from the get go. by the way...great that you're still alive and kicking (you forgot that one).

i like it, but
i think song should be more like the chorus than the verse. that elvis costello thing in the verse has been done to death. the chorus is so fresh, i really dig it (reminds me a bit of nada surf). the solo is great, and I love the subtle use of synths. that's my 1.3 centavos.

I wish my demos
were as fully realised as this!

Excellent work. Lovely staccato guitars. A touch Elvis Costello perhaps.

I have nothing to add that would make it any better.

Cheers

Great phrasing and
love the way you've put the words together Ray. One or two clichés is a little embarrassing, but stringing a whole lot together like this is really classy. Brilliant instrumental track behind your excellent vocals. AND the production is brilliant as well. I'm sorry, but I can't find anything to pick out as an area for improvement. This is just an all-round great track.
