Blues Bass- Drums & Guitar

Get Flash to see this player.

Description
I've been indulging my passion for "Guitar Blues" some lately and here's another one for ya.

This has been in the hopper since May of this year, shortly after I got out of the hospital, and I thought maybe it was time to finish it up and let it loose.

I hope you enjoy "Blues Bass-Drums & Guitar". It's just me, my guitar and a few loops for Drums, a MIDI Bass line I built and one guitar loop in a couple verses as part of the rhythm section.

The rest is me and my guitar.

Ed

It's just fun to do Chris, as you know.

I've listened to you play all kinds of things on all kinds of instruments, and I can always tell you're having a blast when you're making music. That, I think, is what makes what we all do so special.

It's the fearlessness of taking a chance with an instrument and trying new things. Trying to find new structures or tones, or progressions, or just taking something like a 12 bar Blues to a different place. We don't do it for the audience as much as we do it for ourselves.

We always hope where we go with it, the people who get to hear it come along for the ride. When it happens, it's like magic.

Thanks again for listening Chris, and the very kind words.

Be well my friend and be cool,

Ed

Yeah, sure I'll adopt you,
We'll have to get a bigger trailer, but we'll manage somehow. lol

Jim, I've heard you do vocal things that there's no way in hell I could ever do. Maybe I should get you to adopt me instead of the other way round.

For what it's worth Jim, we all have some things we can do well, and the sharing of that ability and talent is what makes MJ work so well. Like any family, we sometimes bicker over things, but when the chips are down we stick together and help each other.

So thanks for the help and inspiration on my mission to sing the perfect song, Jim. you're the reason I know it can be done. You and a number of other outstanding singers here on MJ

Ya know what Richard,
If I could afford to do it, I'd put on an Arkansas meet up like the one we had in Texas in July. that was a once in a lifetime experience for me that would be worth doing again.

Then we could all get together and trade lick, and war stories, and really have a great time getting to know one another better, and having a good time jammin'.

But since that's not likely to happen, how far did you say the commute would be from your place to mine. lol

Thanks for the kind words my friend, and for dropping in to listen. Speaking of dropping in, if you're ever in the area, you have an open invitation.

Be well and be cool,

Ed

You could cut that commute,
down to about 2 hours if you got yourself a Lear Jet. Heck we even have an airport big enough to land one, and then take it off again. lol

Any time you're in the area, drop in for a little jammin'

Makes me happy knowing you enjoyed this.

As for the picture, it was taken by my iMac using Photo Booth which has a bad habit of making me look like a lefty. I'm not, I use a plain old regular right handed guitar played in the usual way.

Thanks for listening and the kind words Dave, I appreciate it a lot.

Been using Photo Booth
for over 2 years, and just thought to look and see if there's a perimeter for turning the photos it takes around so they aren't reversed.

Turns out there is. When in Photo booth, under the "Edit" tab, at the very bottom of the edit functions there's one called "Auto Flip New Photos" which does exactly that. Duh, who knew !

Live and learn I guess. Thanks for getting me to take a look. I always wondered why Apple didn't have it automatically correct for the reversal.

Yeah, that Peavey was a find, Terry
It's got the sound of a Tele, and then some. A very versatile guitar, and it play well with others. All the playing was done for this song on the Peavey, including the really mellow rhythm parts.

Thanks for listening Terry. Looking forward to your next trip to AR. We gonna jam then night away, my friend.

Hello Sigmund
Ya know for a $130.00 pawn shop guitar, I'm more than happy with that Peavey Generation EXP, I'm ecstatic. Best buy I ever made on a guitar in almost 50 years of looking at, and buying guitars. It looks great and plays better, and I haven't found a sound yet I can't get out of it with the right amp and or pedals setup. It can even sound like a Tele if I need it to.

Thanks for listening Sigmund, and the kind words my friend, it is appreciated.

I understand that "nodding my head in a suitably bluesy way" comment completely. The Blues have a completely different effect on the mood then say R & B or Rock does. It puts you into a whole new space and lets you groove with the sounds coming through the haze, and absorb them into your psyche.
