its close to
4:20 (my usual slacking off time). Nicely done. The wonderful multiple guitar lines in the backdrop (including that bass) add heaps on the vibe. My guess is you have several million more jams in you just like it :-) so get busy its not yet 5!

The minute....
...you get hyper-famous, there's going to be this whole cottage industry in bootlegged multiple takes and versions of Fran songs and Fran solos... Kind of a Grateful Dead or Phish kind of phenomenon....

I can also totally see you wowing the crowd at Bonnaroo... or being the featured act on one of those pleasantly hemp inflected jam band cruises...

If only we knew a decent graphic artist of some sort, then all of us who know about you NOW could get a really smooth looking limited edition, signed and numbered t-shirt...

You know, I'm getting to like how you look reversed....

PRS
They have come out with so many different pickups since I bought my 2 PRS...I dont even know if they come with these pickups on them anymore...they are called DRAGON II...a PRS patent. When turned up to 10, the guitar is all fat gibson, sustain and power....but when the guitar is turned on to about 3-4 and in the second or fourth pickup position, this tone comes out....not gibson, not strat or tele...it is totally unique to my ears and is the sound I have dreamed of since my kiddie days. I love that sound. And of course we all know, when you play and the tone is what you love, you are inspired to speak your heart...

I LOVE MY PRSs

You make it look easy
Hey Fran, you really make playing that PRS look easy but you can also see the soul and concentration you put into your playing. The instrumental really kept my interest and I enjoyed studying your technique on the video. I am jealous of your talent :-) Thanks for sharing your music.

ziti said 2346 days ago (November 21st, 2010)
please
no jealousy....I was not one of those kids who could play a guitar 20 minutes after picking it up. I grew up with 2 guys like that...they made everything look so easy...plus they both took lessons, so they knew all this STUFF and made me feel like a moron. I had to really work at...hours and hours a day. I am still practicing 2-3 hours a day. So I guess, if I can learn to play, anyone can, with the desire and commitment. Playing the guitar is one of the few meaningful activities in my life, but I cant tell you what the meaning is.

All I know is that i really feel nice when people respond to it in an emotional way.

Thanks for taking the time

now that's funny
i totally appreciate the compliment, I really really do....but seriously...Jeff Beck is so far beyond any guitar player on the planet that i dont even amount to a bug bite on his ass...he is the GREATEST ever.

I certainly thank you and your student for the support...but let's temper it with some reality!:)

Your playing and friendship are a HUGE source of strength and inspiration, Mark...and that is from the heart, man. YOU are the greatest guitarist I have ever sat in a room with, and my chances to play with, and watch you play have been joyful experiences for me. I am in awe of your playing. Always!

Sweet
Very awesome tune, has a nice sexy vibe going on. To me this has a Santana feel to it, very cool.

What is it with you guitar players? You always seem to chop off the top of your heads in your videos!

in my case
the very top part of me is not particularly attractive...

i think guitar players all love the way their guitars LOOK...and I always think that its the hands you should watch on a guitar player, not his face. Like a tap dancer...watch his feet and ignore the foolish grin he has plastered on his face.

this is a problem for guitar players all throughout the ages...what the hell do I do with my face when I'm playing...then BB King, Hendrix and Duane Allman came a long and it became cool to let your face do whatever it wants. It can get ugly.

and the sounds you get out of that guitar. I really need to get the tremolo bar out and start practicing with it. Fine mix as well. Enjoyed.
