Description
A metaphorical description of the importance of independent thinking in the advancement of humanity. On a smaller scale, it applies to my own personal hurdles in life and the need to pick oneself up and move on when one has grown apart from its surroundings.

Lyrics
A commenter wanted to see the lyrics, he they are:

Hairless face was the curious one
He'd love to chase the setting sun
Before the shade comes down
and covers the ground
he'd have to remain with his head in the clouds
Where he'd lie in wait
and when rain comes down, it would wash him away
and carry him along to another place
When the night has hit the ground
and the lion is not around
he wiped the monkey off his feat
he hit the ground
he wants to run free
Tuft to tuft, the grass had concealed
the gleaming face of the primates shield
Before the coming day
he had slipped away
from the jaws that could have ended his dreams
Where he'd lie in the rain
and enough came down, it would wash him away
and carry him along to a better place
And he walked for days and days
dropping chains along the way
That little monkey got away
he hit the ground
now he's running free

Monkey business
Dark art indeed. Reminds me of Radiohead...I like the mix and guitars are tasty.

Thanks for the dl :)

Vital concept!
Nice rocker here... Solid and engaging beat. Ominous melody.

Really enjoyed your vocal friend. Could you please print the lyrics?

Be well!

The Curious, Hairless Monkey
I like this. Very relaxed feel contributes to the dark and groovy vibe. I like the glassy acoustic guitar tone.

Very cool mellow tune here. I love the guitars not in your face but present and really good! Thanks.

nice wah
like the wah wah guitar behind it all, really adds an extra dimension. Reminded me a little of Robert Palmer in the vocal department. Nice tune, enjoyed it.

cool
a title like that and no picture? oh well, guess I'll have to be happy with the song. the song is great. what a mood, that wah guitar really makes the song (and your bed). if I could be so bold as to make a tiny suggestion: the mix is so wide open and sparse, I would maybe pan the guitars a little closer to the middle so that they are not quite as wide. makes them sound a little separate from everything. really nitpicking though, and this is one of the nicer songs I've heard on MJ in awhile. great job.

Thanks for feedback
I still have all the tracks. I'll give your suggestion a try. I am still learning about mixing and mastering. Thanks for the comment.

really?
your mixing sounds great to me, seriously. i only mentioned it as it was the one thing that jumped out at me, and I figured such a minor thing might make it even more special. it's a wonderful song. what are you recording with?

no really..
I don't have a whole lot of confidence when it comes to mixing and mastering. Maybe something to do with losing perspective after listening to the song too much (plus no proper monitors). I appreciate the constructive feedback even more than the good comments so I'm up for trying suggestions. I'm recording through usb firewire (Alesis I/02) into Garageband for Mac.
