Description
My offering this Christmas season. It's my solo song that was the basis for a collaboration with Richard Schletty in Dec. 2006 - (link). You really should go and listen to that more developed version. The song is Angels We Have Heard On High. Most know it by the chorus: Gloria In Excelsis Deo!
A celebratory song indeed.

Remixed and tweaked at the Dadai Studios!

Lyrics
ANGELS WE HAVE HEARD ON HIGH

Open by playing a C chord. starting melody note is open 1st string
repeat CHORUS after every verse.

C G C
Angels we have heard on high,
C G C
Singing sweetly through the night,
C G C
And the mountains in reply
C G C
Echoing their brave delight.

CHORUS:
C A7 Dm G C F G
Gloria...............
C G C F G
in excelsis Deo.
C A7 Dm G C F G
Gloria...............
C G C F G C
in excelsis Deo.

Shepherds, why this jubilee?
Why these songs of happy cheer?
What great brightness did you see?
What glad tiding did you hear?

CHORUS

Come to Bethlehem and see
Him whose birth the angels sing;
Come, adore on bended knee
Christ, the Lord, the new-born King.

CHORUS

See him in a manger laid
Whom the angels praise above;
Mary, Joseph, lend your aid,
While we raise our hearts in love.

CHORUS

I always...
...enjoy this traditional song in any arrangement. It is, though, quite a difficult song to sing ... with all those long measures in the chorus. I do very much like this with a solo guitar as accompaniment. You have realized some tricky chords in a very natural and beautiful fashion. Nice.

Simple and laid
back is the best way to appreciate your masterly guitar playing on this....and the chorus is a bit of a bugger to play and sing, well played and sung here tho'.

Into the Crimble folder.

Beautiful work Jack...
Gloria in Excelsis Dadai! Thanks for sharing this--and it's not easy to get me to sit through Christmas music (to be candid with you), but I was enraptured by this! Thanks again--and take good care now, Michael
