Description
do their feet get cold? (are those wires warm?)

do they suffer the cold?

do birds accept winter for what it is?

or does the mind of a bird even entertain such thoughts?

Lyrics
Carol Of The Birds

Whence comes this rush of wings afar,
Following straight the Noel star?
Birds from the woods in wondrous flight,
Bethlehem seek this holy night.

"Tell us, ye birds, why come ye here,
Into this stable, poor and drear?"
"Hast'ning we seek the newborn King,
And all our sweetest music bring."

Hark how the greenfinch bears his part,
Philomel, too, with tender heart,
Chants from her leafy dark retreat,
Re, mi, fa, sol, in accents sweet.

Angels and shepherds, birds of the sky,
Come where the Son of God doth lie;
Christ on the earth with man doth dwell,
Join in the shout, "Noel, Noel!"

words from a French carol, translator unknown. appeared in Carols Old and Carols New by Charles Lewis Hutch (Boston Mass) 1916

Unusual, but beautiful Bill
Could not figure out which bird was singing the lyrics, but I could here the choir chirping their song.

An interesting piece my friend, and well done. Kudos

carol of the birds
the artwork is scary....(pan down to tippi hedren fleeing with schoolchildren), the intro is scary...(think 'fanny & alexander')....then the gregorian chant-esque chorus comes in....and it's 'the omen'...part 4'. bill - it's supposed to be xmas...why are you trying to frighten everyone? it's clever and it's different....so i love it.

Hmmm
I often see the little birdies perched on the phone cables all around. They don't seem to mind the cold, but I'm sure they'd rather be warm. This was very pretty, short but very nice.

A French Carol!
This is one of my favorite French carols. I was expecting to hear singing, but it never came. At first I thought the birds were a distraction but by the end I decided I liked it.
