Description
a study in phasing

each of the four notes of the theme is played on a different instrument

the notes are looped, but the length of each loop is slightly different

eventually, the four loops sync up and the true theme emerges

prior to the sync point, some hints of the theme start being heard

once the loops are in sync, the loop time is tweaked to keep the loops locked in sync

Awesome
It's fun to geek out to music stuff like this. The best thing is that this could actually work as part of a haunting soundtrack.
How did you create this? I would love to hear something like this that emerges into some kind of rocking song. Well done.

reading the vernier scale...
My father taught me to read calipers long ago... so I immediately enjoyed the artwork.

I too started to do something very much like this with this very piece last year, and never finished it to my satisfaction. I still have the MIDI sketch laying around, how deviously fun and nicely done this is, I enjoyed listening to the phased teeth slowly synchro-mesh into place. You could probably introduce the bass note earlier on in sparse spots before letting it loose at the end.

Genre Info
Experimental music is any music that challenges the commonly accepted notions of what music is. There is an overlap with avant-garde music. John Cage was a pioneer in experimental music and defined and gave credibility to the form. As with other edge
