Mark
oh yes now again i remember your site - and nice guitar work -
after being away - nice sliding guitar work
and 'turns' for the betterment of us all -
the suspended notes . then their timely and perfect style of resolve -
obtain such a persona of their own when resolved correctly and there are so many of
this very nature found here -

making the real beauty - this is soooo chamber/soiree - i love it - get me a long curly wig and a formal coat

here is
a short guitar song which I wanted a master to hear . . . below . . .

You play this beautifully, Mark. Just the right amount of "feeling" and great technique. Thanks for the gift. Enjoy the season...

This Weiss guy
woulda written for electric lute if he had known it could sound this serene. Not a familiar piece for me. Thanks for introducing it and making it down-able.

Beautifully rendered...
in your hands, that instrument can produce nothing but solid gold--you are the best, hands down! Thanks again Mark for this work and wishing you and yours a very Merrie Christmas (and I'm on that track--will have something soon--I hope!) Take care now, Michael

Miami Weiss?
Is this the same Weiss about whom Michael Mann made that late '80's TV show set in MIami? I was certainly hoping it was, but, alas, this sounds nothing like Jan Hammer's music, so I don't really get it...

But never mind. Truth be told, I am a huge (HUGE!) fan of Weiss's music, so I was thrilled to hear this, and you play it beautifully! I used to play his "Fantasie", and maybe I'll dust it off and try recording it in the new year. Rumor has it that I am about to receive an Apogee Duet (preamp), so that I can finally start recording stuff with minimal hassle.

But I digress... I am amazed by your versatility, and extremely impressed by how well you play this. Happy Holidays to you too!

I

didn't realize that Weiss was from Miami. I do detect some Cuban influence in is music- his suite in Dm- Prelude, Allemande,Courante, Sarabande, Manteca and Gigue has always been one of my favorite pieces.

late Renaissance...
It's wonderful to hear this "ancient" music served up with such grace and style, Mark. I know how intricate these compositions are when played on the guitar, and you do them exquisite justice in your carefully-executed renderings. this little Allemande represents an art form that is largely lost today. (Ah, you've given me some ideas!) How wonderful that you have unearthed this music from the dust bin of history and given it new life in the 21st century. Wonderful playing.

Layers of goodness...
You chose a beautiful piece of music, and you got a really nice, chiming tone from the guitar...Best of all, the pace at which you played it seems just perfect for it...
VicDiesel said 2400 days ago (December 28th, 2010)
Dance dance dance!
At least I think an Allemande is a dance. But this more lyrical interpretation is probably at least as charming, giving more time to appreciate interesting harmonic twists.

Great performance.
