Description
This song is dedicated to a former colleague. This guy had everything going for him: a nice family, a great house, a hummer, and a $120K per year job. Instead of being grateful for the wonderful things in his life he decided to take an alternative route.

He decided to start buying drugs for young women in exchange for sex. He also used the date rape drug on occasion and caused a girl to overdose. Instead of taking her to the emergency room he decided to just dump her on the side of the road in order not to put his professional license at risk.

He liked to rent the VIP room at a local club and throw raves with lots of cocaine and ecstasy. He began running with a bad crowd and started carrying a handgun for protection.

Eventually he pissed off enough people and one of his heroin hookers decided to contact the DEA and put a sting on him. Needless to say he was eventually arrested and now my former colleague is doing 2 to life at the state prison.

He used to be a pretty nice guy. Boy he sure turned into a serious scumbag.

He did give me pretty good song material though.

Lyrics
Love, Love, Kill, Kill

Sex for money
Don’t call her honey
Drugs for sex
It’s never the best

(Chous)
Love, Love, Kill, Kill, you live the thrill
Love, Love, Kill, Kill, you deal those pills
They say that guns and cocaine just don’t mix
Giving X to young girls, that’s how you get your fix

Just a little Ketamine
Will liven up the scene
What the hell, she got too high
So you’re gonna let her die

(Chorus)

A balloon of H got her on her back
A couple of Percocet got her in the sack
So you made her mad and she called the cops
Making you the target of special ops

Yeah your life is blown away
Yeah your life is blown away…

Throw your life down the drain
Causing your family so much pain
Kissing away is what you’ll do
Too much blow is what you’ll choose

(Chorus)

nothing beats good song material
You sound like the singer of the Circle Jerks on this one, Man you a power house and the bass is all over the road but not off the road, shit dude this is killer with a great story! that short break at 2:52 after the lead rules!!!

Thanks man
for having a listen and for the Circle Jerks comparison. I've been a long time fan of the CJ's; they are one of my all time favorite groups.

That short break I got so lucky on. I played it once then switched the channel and figured I'd need a bunch of tries to get a tight fifth. Man I nailed it on the first try. That never happens!

serving time
yah know this is really a fascinating and sad story ~ yes - ~ some just do not know what they have until it is gone - the turnaround
lyc. line starting at :52 - along with unison octave bass helps depict the runaway theme -
absorbing the cutting vocals stepping all over
rebellious breakfast clubbers . . . Jimmy Dean !

Love
When the bass and guitars go for a walk together and the muted slightly funked rifting.
Your build up and solo is a delight. The doubled guitar work always sound great to me. Drums are now always a highlight of your tunes.
Just great

for dropping by and having a listen.

After a year of writing songs using the computer and programming drums, I'm finally putting together coherent drum parts. Man that has been so frustrating. I get better with every song it seems.

Strat is sounding sweet thru the Mesa boogie.
Love that doubled ascending run. Powerful tune about a real dbag.

Thanks Dave!
I really like using the strat these days. The tone is a little leaner than my PRS or Hamer guitars so it leaves more headroom for the bass and drums. Not to mention the fact that the action of a strat is about as fast as it comes. The only gripe is that the lead guitar tone is too lean. I need to play leads that require two strings plucked at a time to get a rich sound.

I'm not sure why but my playing has evolved into something that sounds a lot like SD or BR. I don't think that was ever intentional its just kind of the direction I've had lately.

I got kind of lazy for parts of the song and just mirrored the guitars with the bass. There are a couple sections I kind of wish that I would have tried to figure out a complimentary bass line.

Maybe someday I'll beg you to kick down some real bass for me.

I've used the UA LA610 pre enough now to get that fairly dialed in. The key to that pre is to use the opticompressor sparingly. When I first got it I ran it too hot.

Sex, Drugs, and R n' R
I'm glad you chose R n' R, because you're really good at it. NIce chops, especially on the solo. You really captured a sense of urgency and bitterness, something his family must be feeling right about now. Great job, thanks for posting.

Dig the song - I love hard rock songs like this and you kick butt the whole way through. Your story ending cracks me up - you lay out this big old sad story about a good guy gone bad, and you end it with "He did give me pretty good song material though". LOL Enjoyed this - thanks!

Good rocker!
Nice riffage! Why does anyone take ketamine?!! You've crafted a good poppy tune under all that heavy guitar. Your voice sounds like it's straining at bit in some parts - maybe it's in too high a key. Love the dual guitar line, sounds great - like Thin Lizzy. A touch of Therapy? in there I feel...
