Same Old Song (Final Edit)

Description
Final version of this little acoustic jam. Inspired by everyday things in the media, and my own vision of how world is/how I'd like it to be. Mix in a little 'life's a journey not a destination' defiance, and this is what I came up with. The last version had a bad end edit/cutoff. Boom, fixed it.

Lyrics
Same old song stuck in my head
I know I want something more in this life
Than what they got planned for me ya

I’m so tired of who’s naked now
And people always telling me who I’m supposed to be
Leave all your guns at home, this aint so bad
We can work it out without losing our heads
Have you ever given all that you can
Hey man, ya need help, just open your hands
I look around and see it every day
People workin’ hard but they don’t get paid
I don’t take no for an answer when I know
In my heart-that I’m right

Hey man I thought I knew ya
Turns out I knew ya well
And Hey man good luck to ya
Only time will tell
Hey now we’re all moving
To our unique sound
Hey now Lets stand together
Let’s stand together now
Hey now we’re not losing
The fights just begun

I can’t feel the rain when it’s fallin’ on me
But I’ll still find my way even when I can’t see
I keep telling myself there’ll be brighter days
And I know in the end it’ll be ok

Tell it brother
I like the growlin vocal style you have in this one. The guitar riffs that come in as the song progresses keep the song evolving.

Thanks for the dl :)

thanks
glad you enjoyed it! I was trying to build off the simple main part and keep the song 'growing'

Nice
Simple tune but the lyrics speak volumes. I did a similar one called "Back at the Wheel" a sort of "state of my nation" thing. How the hell do we survive the daily onslaught of media crap?.....guess we write song about it! Cheers Mark

The lyrics were the key element here, I agree. I'll definitely check out "back at the wheel"...cheers

Love the
rocking style and the gravelly vocals. Kind of world weary but not hopeless. Thanks.

Thank you !
I put all of what I had into this one, and just hoped it was enough...kind of a shoot for the moon and if I only get halfway so be it type of thing. And ya, its definitely not hopeless...but concerned.

Same old tune
but it evolves, and the lyrics carry the message. The plain raw delivery suits a defiant tone. Nice mix. Good balance and levels.

same old tune
Thanks, I can tell from all the comments that I achieved what I set out to do, not looking to set the world on fire with crazy riffs, there is plenty of time for that. Glad you like the mix too, I thought I went a bit overboard on the kick drum, as I sometimes do b/c I love a good thumpin!

same old song
cool...gravelly raw vocal...and although it doesn't go places it has neat little riffs and diversions to keep everything on track.

thanks man
Appreciate the comments. I tried to add enough nuance, but still keep the 'rawness' intact.

Very Bruce Springsteen
Very well done. Great raspy vocal. Love the bare acoustic guitar. Perhaps vary it a bit more but a cool riff nonetheless. Enjoyed it! 60s protest rock vibe!

It was twenty years ago today...Sgt. Pepper taught me how to play. It goes in and out of style, but always raises a smile. Just kidding. learned to play down in the crossroads...from the devil himself... [see more]
