Description
When I have little inspiration to break out I often make small phrases in a given key and repeat and build them up from there, it is a simple way to compose a tune as the ad ons practically write themselves. Simple but at times effective.

On this piece I used really old style instruments and gave it a slight asian spin and a hip hop sort of hook just to see what I would get. The percussion is all old drum machine presets from my EMU sampler, corny but they have a certain charm...

Hope you like Fuji

Happy New Year everyone..

this is more art-electro than pop....the word 'pop' makes me shiver..(images of madonna). yeah this is definitely more interesting than electropop. very noticeable asian theme but not overbearing....then it gets more euro at 2.40 with that solo synth coming in. i like the changing beats and little layers coming in and out that maintain interest. cool ride.

asian spin.
you really knocked this one out. I can really hear this in a movie. Love the way it moves along and the feel really changes, yet keeps glued together very well. Nice percussion as well!

What's old is new again. There is a real resurgence of vintage sounds going on out there. The synth pads that come in at about 1:45 put as real cinematic score bent to it for a while. Love the old EMU drums, put a very japanese pop twist to it. Thanks also for the insight into your "phrase" writing strategy. I'll have to try that, sounds very interesting as a writing tool.

with the jaw dropping photo's of beautiful women. i like this old skool sound. not corny at all. i also like how the kyoto (?) isn't perfectly on the grid, seems to pause for a second here and there. very cool track.
