Description
My version of "Henry" by Nataie Scibetta.

The original can be found here: http://www.macjams.com/song/63192

Another excellent version (done with Residence can be found here: http://www.macjams.com/song/63276

I was blown away by Residences' interpretation and wanted to try my own. Natalie was kind enough to send me her vocal tracks and then I bent and twisted it to fit my own peculiar sense of rhythm and harmony.

I hope you enjoy it,

-- Steve

Very different
than Residence's version here. Almost unrecognizable. Really cool work here. The usual awesome production and instrument play I expect from you too. Natalie is flawless as always. Killer track!

Residence version
The only thing in common were the vocal tracks. The rest was all auto-pilot after putting some of Natalie's phrases in a loop. Thanks, Charles. Glad you like it.

Karen,
Thanks. I'm glad you dropped by for a listen. You can certainly look forward to more tunes from us. We have another "Siren's Headband" project in the works. We also have a Spanish language tune that I'm very excited about which is nearly finished.

With a name like Henry it better be good!
And it is. Strange, dreamy, idiosyncratic, and off the beaten track. It kinda grabbed my ears and rebooted them. Well done!

augmentation
like how each word receives
shade of its own - in this spectral vocal display - seems like it was all done at once -
like how steve has heightened & doubled dreamer's irresistible quirks - I sincerely respect those who can produce such awesome originals; remaining so non-mainstream -
yet offering quenching refreshment -

steve - this is so cool. this is very cool. quirky and slick. wow fantastic vocal delivery...incredible power and emotion in the harmony part. this is one of the most interesting songs i've heard on here for a long time. oh this is so cool. steve this is an amazing production. it gets a bit 'US rock' with those lead guitars at the end...and i thought that was a bit of an unnecessary homage, but i'm nitpicking because this is top drawer.

That deep pan flute
sounding synth in the LH speaker is terrific - worth the price of admission on it's own. Terrific vocals of course, and a very sympathetic instrumental treatment. Classy production of course. Just a fantastic post - your "own peculiar sense of rhythm and harmony" certainly works for me.
Love this!

Deep pan flute
The wind instruments in the beginning are bassoon and clarinet. I've always loved the sound of the bassoon. Double reed instruments (bassoon, oboe, contra-bassoon, etc.) have always turned me on. Great, deeply resonant sound. I built the bass line of this around the bassoon part and that drove the whole song. Thanks.Neil.
