Apple II too?
As a long-time Apple II fan, I seem destined to get reminders of the old 8 and 16-bit CPUs in those things. I posted songs 65002 and 65020 which remind me of the 6502, and 65816 is of course the CPU used in the Apple IIgs! Coincidence? One of these days I should get out the old IIgs with the built-in Ensoniq synthesizer chip and record something for MJ.

Wow
I love the creativity here. A symphony of analog. Great!

GB has several "analog" synths
which sound great. I like a sound which morphs and evolves like analog, so I gravitate toward Moogish patches.

Fire Dance
Nice energy, and complementary sound choices with a retro-digital feel.

This was fun.
I started out doing a serious version, but got sidetracked into a pop-synth takeoff. Maybe someday I'll get back to the "real" Ritual Fire Dance.

Nice thing about a synth
is nobody judges you against the real world, and you can take liberties when and where you please. Makes me smile, so I'm glad for company.

Headphones
Listening on headphones is a real treat! Wonderful use of panning. Reminds me of Rick Wakeman. I hear a cool video-game vibe from the melody keyboard beginning around 57 seconds in.

So these are all GB synths? What a wealth of musical power Apple has given us with these great instruments. I will have to explore them some more.

I love the fact that these are all obviously synths, and not trying to imitate orchestra instruments. Let synths be synths! They can do things which orchestral instruments can't, so exploit that! And you do, Henry.

Love the repeated last chord. Beethoven would have approved.

Henry,
Love these synth sounds. Are these built into GB. They sound too high end. Are they a third party library?

They come with GB '11.
Some gentle tweaking of parameters here, adding a "wah" filter there from the guitar FX kits, and you can get lots of usable synthy sounds. There is a lot of depth in some parts of GarageBand, and it's frustratingly shallow in other parts. Enough good stuff that I have since bought Logic.
