Description
I met Jeff Bridges at Books and Boarders a few years ago. Michael McDonald was there two. I bought Jeff's album and talked with him a bit. One of my friends that used to be in movies supplying cars for movies had dinner with Jeff when they were doing the movie Tucker. He supplied the Tucker cars that were available. So this song is dedicated to Jeff and his movie Rooster Cogburn.

Nice to hear you singing, Bill
Love the narrative hear, but it's the pickin that tells the story. As always you time on the fretboard is well spent and well executed, my friend.

You never disappoint, Bill

Thanks
Ed, I changed the strings from medium light to heavier. I have have a tough time dealing with the lack of lower end sound on the lighter strings.

How great was "True Grit?" The dialogue alone will lead me to repeated viewings when I get my hands on the DVD.

Nice recording! Your guitar playing shines in this!

My wife and I really enjoyed
the movie alot. It seems he has got gritty guys down pretty good, even in the file before T.G..
Thanks, I was working on an open tuning with a bunch of strings different from the regular tuning. It seemed to produce a kind of country blues feel..

The Hell You Say
Enjoyed it! Haven't seen the recent movie, but loved the old John Wayne version. Still see him clearing that five-bar fence at the end!

Liked the guitar particularly, really added to the song.

Cheers

I was getting a
bit concerned and not alittle worried about the intro and following comments about this.....thoughts like what the Heck (similar, there is also one vowel and a 'ck' in the word I thought) does Jeff Bridges have to do with Rooster Cogburn and true Grit and that is NOT Kim Darby in the pixture there and all other Oh wailley wailley thoughts ran through me head until I got to the last comment.....and all became clear and I remembered that the Coen brothers are doing a revisit of True Grit.Doh !.

Oh yeah, really good song by the way,and some tricksy finger picking. 80)

Cheers

Your voice and guitar sound real good, Bill. I'll have to go rent that movie; the only one I knew about was the John Wayne one.
