Description
First off, many thanks to cjdaley for letting me get after this song. His original is under his Monggz moniker here: http://www.macjams.com/song/32459

Secondly, it's so hard doing a cjdaley song. His style is so genuinely unique that you can't try to replicate what he's done. So I went for a late 70's New Wave meets Camper Van Beethoven thing. It's quite vanilla when stood next to the original, but what can ya do?

Thirdly, local AZ politics is a gold mine of gypsies, tramps and thieves. As wild as this song, it's almost word for word about a situation brewing here. Maricopa County Supervisor Fulton Brock's wife and daughter have recently been arrested for having a 3 year affair with a boy that is now 17. Huh??? Exactly. What wild is apparently neither one of them knew of the other's involvement with this boy. So in this case, the answer to this song's question is "no".

Fourthly, If you've gotten a million notifications about this song, it's because I'm having some html issues. I was troubleshooting and (obviously) didn't get it figured out. I was trying to put the direct link to cjdaley's original version in the description field but it was causing all kinds of weirdness. Any thoughts.

Anyway, enjoy the song and definitely check out the original.

Lyrics
You maybe
slightly underage
and you are playing truant
but with me
in body language
you’re becoming almost fluent

All day
We play
In the garden
When I’m chasing you around
We play
Our way
Back to eden
With our clothes all over the ground

Does you mother know you’re here
With me
Will she ask for more
Will she be angry
Will she punish you
Well your mother she’s been here
Many times before
And the things you do
with me
She has done them too

Well She may be
Slightly Mature
But she is a pretty widow
We’re so happy
To be
Back in nature
I’m sure she knows and lets you go

Does Your Mother Know
This rocks! The organ rules! I like the distorted vocals. It's an effect that I think rarely works. But here it fits the punky vibe. The bit lifted from Twist & Shout is also very cool. Great (twisted) ending!

Does Your Mother Know?
Man, humans will never cease to amaze me. But more impressive is the brass b*lls of the kid! Man that's some heavy scheming for a 17 year old. As for the song, vanilla maybe, but tons of spirit and a rollickin' good time was obviously had by all (of you).

As someone
who's covered CJ, I hear ya. You nailed it though man. This is rollicking. Absolutely love the Twist and Shout break and that stunning final chord. One of your top 5 for sure. Now off to listen to the original.

Will She Punish You?
(Arrggghhhh! My comment disappeared!)

I originally said something about how amazing it was that you took a Mongzz songg and turned it into this unique and original work.

It has a killer "happy rock before long hair" sound that is deceivingly simple and pure. The lyrical content is even more freakish in the style you've chosen.

You have a great voice, by the way.

definitely. Well, great choice of song, for one thing ;) And this is how I would like to able to do it, taut and punchy. I especially love that little garage organ.

Hey Bob, the garageband treatment works fantastically on this offbeat, catchy song. It has a wonderful early rock groove and you did a great job on the vocals and instrumentation. Way to cool. Regards, Peter.

That was fun to listen to. To turn something so bizarre into rocking lyrics is amazing use of truth is stranger than fiction. Thanks.

Vanilla ?
Hey dude, vanilla is a beautiful perfume, used far too much to represent "beige" or "middle of the road" when it is in fact a very fine thing of its own. Just like your wonderful take on this Monggz classic. Sounds live, sounds awesome, sounds damn right.

Nice vibe and cool vocals.. What do you use to get that vocal effect? I try to do the megaphone sort of sound but it always comes out too brittle and never sits as nice as this does in the mix.

I like the dark chord ending.

Great work!
