Description
This is a simple song about a complex subject. How we say things to mess with people's emotions and often we don't mean to. Or do we? Or is that what this is about? I'll let you decide and hope you like it!!

Lyrics
Verse 1
Gonna get right down inside you
Gonna leave a part of me there
Gonna let it grow forever
Gonna get right down inside you
Chorus
And you believed me when I said that I would leave you High and Dry
And you believed me when I said that I would leave you High and Dry
Verse 2
Gonna tell you that I want you
Gonna tell you that I need you
Gonna say I’ll never leave you
Gonna tell you that I want you

yes
Cool alternative sound. I wish the recording was clearer but still has a way to it. Nice.

Thanks
Thanks for the comment, Gaylen. I might have overprocessed the solo vocal part as I'm not confident with my voice.

Those buzz-saw guitars do it for me.
Bollocks! Those jagged, aggressive opening chords ripped my hat as the sound made its way to my ears! I guess I should know better than to stand so close to the stage, where you'd much rather have your female groupies. (Styrofoam or otherwise-sculpted.) Nice, straightforward rocker with attitude.

Liked the rawness
Hi Bob. Liked the rawness forced upon you in Boy on Fire. Funny old thing, music. Sometimes more is less and less is more. Probably takes a lifetime to get the balance right every now and then. Cheers

Driving guitars
Hi Grahame. Driving guitars are the highlight of this song. The song has a good vibe to it and your vocals suit the style. The bass did not really come through well in my headphones? And I was kind of expecting a blistering guitar solo to pop up any minute... Thanks for the posting. Regards, Peter.

Bass
Hi Peter,I usually mix my sound through a hi fi rather than headphones and I guess the bass might be a bit anonymous. I didn't want to do anything fancy like a guitar solo cos I just wanted to keep it simple but I can hear what you mean and appreciate it. Thanks very much Grahame

Nice
The songwriting is great here, catchy groove and hook. The recording does leave something to be desired, as mentioned. Especially the kick and snare, and the vox could use some compression and brightening, which would allow you to turn it down some and make more room for the midrange of the guitar.

Thanks for the kind comment. Just gave your Don't Bully Me a blast and it is great. It reminds me of so many bands I've listened to in the past (and I mean that as a really good thin). Always up for th blues!! Cheers

Okay..
So, you're just toying with her heart to keep her on her toes? A girl just can't relax if she's insecure, you know. It leaves a door open for you but shuts you out of a lot of others. Games sometimes have no winners. Well done. Thanks.
