Description
a simple song. around 6 or 7 weeks ago i was playing or goofing off on the keyboard and came up with the chord pattern. at that point i added a synth, guitars and the drums...... then it sat. i finally reopened the file the other day and added the bass and vocals because i hate a cluttered desktop. kinda sounds like a kinks song, at least to me

Lyrics
Some Daze

you slapped the trees when they didn't grow
you shoved the rocks when they didn't roll
others walked the mile and yet you only smiled
ain't life a bitch once in a while

some days are fast
some days are slow
some times you don't know where to go
some days are easy
some days are hard
some days happen

sitting in traffic no place to go
kick back and listen to the radio
praise the old beater when it gets you there
ain't life a bitch once in a while

some days are fast
some days are slow
some times you don't know where to go
some days are easy
some days are hard
some days happen

to fast to slow i know i go somewhere (2x)

we know push and pull and heads will roll
and you still smile once in a while
morning was a breeze, easy as you please
ain't life a bitch once in a while

some days are fast
some days are slow
sundays you don't know where to go
some days are easy
some days are hard
some days happen

i think when i started doing the vocals i knew right away it would be on the fringe of a kink style. the bridge yes. it is very beatlish they used it quite a few times and i knew how to play it on the piano & synth. thanks for the listen

Some Daze
Very direct and simple, as you said. Sometimes stripping the song down to the essence is really the best way to go. I like the lyrics, and particularly the bridge, very smooth - and the backing vox are super smooth. Some daze it all just fits together...

Good songcrafting. I like the way you end each verse the same way, and how the chorus hammers on the hook. The bridge is a nice contrast musically to the rest of the song. Vocals sound good and the mix is excellent as usual.

Ecclesiasties...
The lyrics made me think of that passage: There's a time...
Elements of The Beatles in here, too.
Cool song. I am particularly appreciative of the clarity in your vocal performance. ... Solid backup that serves your voice well...I wonder if some added vocal harmony would't provide a little break now and again, maybe take the edge off of your rather bold vocal...soften it a little. Just a thought.

pretty much pure '60's on this one, i wanted to keep it fairly minimal, the added voc. harmonies came to mind, but i decided to keep to the minimal tracks idea.
