Lyrics
What Do You Say...

What do you say
To a man who's put his life on the line
who's been looked over and who's been walked on
now running out of time

What do you say
to a women who has played the game
of the good wife, the companion, but no longer walks the line

What do you say
When he tells you you're the only one
Do you laugh out loud, or shed a tear
Does your life come undone

What do you say,
When you see someone falling down
Do you lend a hand, help them stand
Do you kick them down to the ground

The words don't come easy
The second time around
We all need a little help
To keep us from falling down

CHORUS
Take my hand
We'll walk to the other side
We won't stay here on our own
Cause what we say
Will take us to another day
Don't stay with what we know

What do you say
To a man who's put his life on the line
who's been looked over and who's been walked on
who's running out of time

What do you say
to a women who has played the game
of the good wife, the companion, but no longer walks the line

Upbeat Blues
Really well put together track. Nice production/arrangement. Enjoyed this.

Feel that the bright, affirmative, positive sound only really suits the sentiments of the chorus though? Perhaps something less confident for the verses, which are after all really a series of questions? Perhaps a bit more vulnerability there would have engaged the listener more closely?

Mind you, i suppose that's acoustic rock, isn't it?

Enjoyed it anyway, and look forward to hearing more.

Cheers now

Really up my street this song. Well played and presented cracking vocal lines. Only minor thing was the lead could have been a little louder in the intro section but well done man good song

Profound...
Dylan-esque profundity. This is a wonderful, moving song.

I am picking up some distortion as I listen to this (I think).
Maybe the levels? Really love the song and the performances!

I think this mix is a little hot
but a really good song, well sung and written, worth a proper mixing, I'd definitely re-work this one!

Very nice work
Thoughtful lyrics, strong vocal work and fine instrumentation add up to a really enjoyable listen. The song did come across louder than the great majority of MJ songs that I listen to though and perhaps it was recorded a bit hot. Very nice work. Regards, Peter.

Nice folky piece
cuts in the vein of America, a bit Croce and dare I say even some Gordy Lightfoot. Nice guitar break.
