Nice way
to start my day, thank you KleinKo ! :-)

It's interesting, I'm working on a jazz concussion song myself, but I have to admit, I get quite a headache after rehearsals :-)

Yves!
Be careful with that jazz concussion stuff my friend! Best thing to do while working in that genre is to place lots and LOTS of pillows and soft things about the room, just as a precaution! You are too kind--thanks again! Michael

Tasty little change up
Fun and quite a surprise to find here. And there wasn't any hiss and scratch marks on this recording so I have to believe that your responsible of the remake of this. Good job.

I always wonder what happened to her. Now I know. Do you think there will be an investigation?

Richard
That is quite a nice compliment, about no hiss and scratches, thank you! I'm an anachronistic type of performer, but that's just what I want to be, so that really was kind of you to say. As for poor Alice, that discovery there just reminded me how much we wasted funding NASA--all along, they just needed Ralph Kramden. You take care now! Michael

What a Little Moonlight Can Do
Great tune. I don't think I've ever heard this one. I love the arrangement. The electric piano and and muted trumpet really help this track stand out. As always, an excellent vocal.

My favorite kind! Glad you enjoyed this Andrew--I enjoyed the arrangement too (except it was a bit too fast to put an frills into the vocals, although I did what I could manage). Thanks for stopping by and have a swell week! Michael

I always forget...
that what is taken for granted by we Yanks is a complete mystery to you British blokes! (Then again, I remember a fellow from England who kept talking about his having "marmite" for breakfast. For the longest time, I thought that was some kind of rock or mineral until he kindly disabused me of that fanciful notion!) Alice Kramden was a character on an American sitcom series from the 1950s. She was married to Ralph Kramden (played by Jackie Gleason) on the show and about every other episode, he would threaten her with "One of these days Alice, right to the moon" (later simplified to a simple "Bang! Zoooom!" by him) Thanks for the kind words--always glad to hear from ya Chris! Take care now mate, Michael

I must admit...
I had not heard this song before, perhaps because I am not as well versed in the Punk-Grunge genre as I ought to be, but it is utterly charming! I clearly need to listen to more punk music! Sung superbly, with humor and grace. Thanks for putting a smile on my face to start the weekend!

Punkish grunge and idjits
A veritable panoply of musical goodness. Again, extra points for the song description (I guess Bimbo #1 was otherwise occupied). EXTRA extra points for the cartoon. I am indeed having a(n) hilarious weekend, working on my new masterpiece, entitled "Family Outburst." Coming soon to all the top listening venues ... well, MJ. So gald ... ooops ,,, glad you stuck around MJ, MJK. I thought I read recently that you were going away for awhile. Either I've been stricken with "con-fusion" or you changed your mind. Either way, good. Fun piece.

I always look forward to your comments (and not just for very warm reception you give my stuff here either!) "Top Listening Venues"--now that was a crisp one! Good luck with that opus Reggie! Pleased that you liked the cartoon and the song description--I really put forth some (variable) effort to make them a bit different than the usual conventional things. Well, my schedule is still very tight but I've found I can make the time to hang about the joint for a while now and then! Last weekend, I performed in public for the first time in almost 13 years--so I'm making some progress in that line! Thanks again Reggie--you take good care now, Michael

Pal O' Mine...
Ted, this thing is so short that I'm not sure it's even a song, yanno? I think the one thing I was pleased with here is that (as mentioned to Karen above) I could actually project that long "U" sound that always is a tough job when my allergies are at work, so I could tell this new miracle drug (as seen in the horror classic "The Re-Animator") is working really well! Thanks so very much (and I truly appreciate the fact that you went into Google and typed in "How do I create a copyright symbol on my computer?"--nyuck, nyuck, nyuck! I know, I know....) Drool, drool, blah blah SUPERLATIVE.
Alvino did you good, as did Bimbo #2 here. But as always, it's that velvet fog, front and center, that captivates. I'm gonna start a kitty, the "MJK Lotion Fund" because -- not what you're thinking -- your back's gotta be getting sore with all those pats it gets, song after song, measure after measure.

As always I revel in your MJ Keywords and song illustrations, and this time I'll add the genre that (as of this comment) is listed as "Punk-Grunge." I mean, like, on WHAT planet (or satellite of cheese?!)

never heard this song before...so you're the first time. it really just goes to show how you were born out of your time....and what a shame this genre doesn't get more visits. i love the backing track too...really sparkly. how long does this take you? ten minutes? one take?
