Isn't There a Fragrance of Spring in the Air?

Description
A very simple theme.

For once this little thingy was something I created just recently, the other day.

I have one regret, and that is that I very seldom record little ditties like this. And since I don't have a memory like Paul McCartney there are thousands of little themes that pass just once and never reappear. Well I guess that is a bit like life itself. So many moments, some very dear, that just pass and can't be held on to.

I took the photo just some 20 minutes walk from here.

That's one moment that did not get away
We are collectors of moments. Those elusive ideas cultivated from experiences recorded with 5 senses and filtered down to one; sound. I saw colors, smelled flowers, felt warmer winds all with my mind's ear. Good job. Catch some more....

Well-Tempered Guitar
Nice. The way you start with an idea and then pursue it harmonically reminds me of Bach. Beautifully progressed and brought out, evoking a movement that goes in small, good-humoured steps, and each ending in a worthwhile pause, like someone going down a picture gallery perhaps, stopping briefly by each work of art and feeling its beautiful ambience without getting too heavy or ponderous about it.

Very much enjoyed. Thanks.

UP & UP
Even though we are in snow to the waist, here, I feel the light heart of an early day in Spring.

This amazes me as life is just about the snow right now. How expressive to accomplish That!

I really dug this
this is a beautiful tune and you play it very confidently. I completely understand what you mean when you talk about not being able to hold onto great ideas, or almost recapture them but know deep down that something's missing, that you didn't remember it right. ever see that movie Solaris?

Very nice
Its a really nice little piece. Are you recording from a mic or directly plugging the guitar in? I ask because the recording quality is excellent.

I have the same issue of not remembering interesting melodies that just come suddenly but I got into the habit of humming the notes into my phone recorder. I dont think anyone really makes music as much as they kind of stumble upon it.

Johannes!
Sorry I'm late :(

Terrific to hear this - I know just what you mean about the "fragrance of spring in the air" - we're just starting to get hints of our coming winter (and after 43ยบ last week, we're very glad of it.

Lovely playing as always - simple and tasty.

Best wishes from Oz,
Neil

Well, where I am we can use the hope. The way you phrased things it does sound like you are asking a musical question. Clean technique and beautiful tone.

You can almost hear...
...the Spring thaw begin....

And I for one am so ready....

It's wonderful, Johannes, to hear you playing once again. It's definitely a bit of warmth in the heart of a cold winter....

Don't let these gems get away. Buy little Zoom recorder and get them all down - so you don't have to go through the whole set-up thing in the studio to capture them. Immediacy! Lovely ditty.

Guitar player since 11. Can't play other instruments than acoustic guitars, well maybe aside from instruments that are tuned the same way; like ukulele or bass guitar. In younger years I took inspiration from classical guitar, American acoustic... [see more]
