Like the counterpoint and unisons...almost to the point of obsession.

Too Cool
Love the panning and the back-and-forth between instruments. The reverb is just right as well. This is an intense 2:02, although the ending was a little abrupt. Overall, very enjoyable. Thanks for posting.

Great piece. You did so much with such a limited palette. Exactly the type of thing I hoped this challenge would produce.

Too tantalising
for just two tracks. I think something ate the musicians. That was terrific. Thanks.

Great european
spy chase spy event with other secondary plots running parallel. For its simplicity it has a grab you kind of form that keeps the interest. The ending is a little shaky though. Ends a little aburmptly with a snap sound.

Thanks for the share

Thanks
Thanks for the feedback and the kind words.

The ending is abrupt; admittedly I got lazy and shaved a bit off the end so the piece would finish at two seconds — a silly rationale, I know. To be obsessive about the time, I should have pared down the intro and let the finish be more natural.

Investigating the 'tick' at the end: it can't be heard when listening to the original uploaded file in iTunes, so I hadn't noticed it previously, but I've just found that listening to the same file in Quicktime reveals the tick. A lesson learned to apply in the future.

Unique
That blew me away! What an artful use of two tracks. I hear a tiny bit of the blues (strangely) seeping in there, which makes this piece utterly unique. Thoroughly enjoyed!

Thanks again
Thanks again for the positive feedback. Any suggestions of flamenco or blues are incidental, or were unconscious on my part. The things planned for this at the start were: make it uptempo; keep it rhythmically strong; use an 'exotic' sounding scale (this one is a slight variation on a common major scale); compose for two individual instruments (keep it in the spirit of two tracks, don't go overboard with midi); make it two minutes, two seconds.

2
Thanks a lot. Yes, only 2. This isn't in any established mode that I'm aware of. I took a cue from heavy metal, in which adding random notes is common, and you could say I created my own mode. Starting with a regular major scale (easy to listen to), I threw in an extra note to make it sound a bit eastern/exotic/unexpected. I didn't want to go all-out with an eastern scale, to keep the piece 'accessible' to a western audience.

I like this
Very nice. You don't often hear bass/viola duets. Nice choice. It cuts off too abruptly at the end. You should let the reverb linger.
