DREAMS AWAY

Description
Dreams Away was a rock(ish) song that morphed into a country(ish) song simply because of a drum beat I tried with it one night. It seemed to fit the groove the best so we went with it.

This was written and sung by Ed Saraka, who also is playing a 2007 Takamine Limited Edition acoustic guitar with cool-tube pre. Dennis Perry is on the Yamaha 5-string bass with backup vocals. Bob Johnson plays lead guitar on a Taylor T5 Classic and provides backup vocals. Dale Kostyk plays drums and was the recorder/producer/engineer for this cut.

No vocal correction, quantization, nor fruity-loop was used in this cut. There was, however, some chorus and verb abuse.

Hope you enjoy!

Pushin the tractor
Yes indeed...a country tune with a good upbeat, drivin groove. I like the band action.

Thanks for the dl :)

Thanks...
... ab... come to think of it, we miked the Takamine in an XY configuration, not direct into the board using the cool-tube pre, but the Taylor was direct to disc, as they say.

Country Rock
Seems to me that the boundary between Rock and Country is hardly there these days!

Really nice track on the ear this, and i like the way you let the music dictate its own identity.

Enjoyed.

Thanks.

Funny...
... but none of us are into country. Yet this is one of our favorites and most fun to play. Thanks for listening and commenting.

I'LL...
... have to let the guys know they can stop buying guitars now. I think they are up to one-per-month. You will have saved them tons of money and time searching for the holy-grail guitar. On second thought, I know it's never good enough... and I know there is nothing like the smell of a new guitar! Thanks for your comment.

You're right
Your right about the drums driving the song... has a 70's CSN&Y feel (especially in the bridge) with Stephen Still taking care of the vocals...
really enjoyed listening to this tune.
