Lyrics
Everyday

Everyday, Is everything you do the same
Do you find your life has become so very tame
Don’t let life’s superhighway
Become a narrow country lane

Everyday, Do you walk the same mile
Have you trapped yourself within your personal style
You should dare to be somebody else
If only for a short while

Everyday, do you sing the same song
Have you sung it, Lord, For what seems much too long
Don’t let that same tame old tune
Keep leading you somewhere that’s wrong

Everyday, Do you walk the same mile
Are you trapped inside your personal style
Borrow someone else’s shoes
And walk in those for a while

I like the lyrics you wrote for this. Interesting mix on the double tracked (I think??) vocal, wan't sure if I liked it at first but it grew on me. Good song!

Thanks for the comment. i'm not a confident singer so I double tracked it to see if it was any better. I wasn't sure either, but like you it grew on me!!

Confident blues, love the turnaround. I actually like the double tracking vocal on this one gives it an authentic bar style, nice one!

Well Grahame
I'm putting your name in my macjams rolodex, I can tell you're gonna take off like a rocket here, once you get the production side down, and you're getting there quick, how's the collab going? Dude, great song! Love the double vocal! Excellent post!

Thanks JD
Yeah, I'm more of a songwriter than a production engineer. But I'm chuffed to bits you like it. I'm not on a collab at the moment, but might well seek one out once I've posted my 2track challenge because that song is a personal favourite and I would love to have some of the real talent here produce a great version of it rather than my simple efforts

hi grahame
technical learning curve aside (let's face it we've all been there), this is a cool song.
your lyrics stand out....they're SMART....and it doesn't matter how shit you think your vocals are...if your lyrics are sound then everything works out. superhighway, narrow country lane. clever stuff!

Hi Julian
Thanks for the comments. As I said above to JD I'm more of a songwriter than an engineer so always welcome advice on that score. And appreciate that you like the lyrics. Cheers!!

Thankyou very much for the kind words. I think it helps to produce a good song if you like it. i like this one, but there are many I've written that I don't!! Is that crazy or normal?

Traffic queue song
This is a great song for exactly the sort of situation in the pic! i can imagine it would really raise a smile, because no doubt it was the same the day before and is likely to be the same the next day.

Like the way the weary repetitive rhythm is in synch with the mood.

Effective all round and much enjoyed. Thanks!

Quality lyrics
Hi Grahame. Nice simple song with quality lyrics. The double-track vocal is one way to boost confidence in your vocals but I think you will find that the more you actually listen to yourself, the more comfortable you will become with your voice as it is. The other trick that might have worked with this is a call-response vocal (Everyday (everyday)) type of thing. This is what was flashing into my head whilst listening. Anyway, keep posting, your production will improve as you figure a few things out. Congratulations. Regards, Peter.
