Description
Been outta the loop recently. But saw two track challenge and this early post fit the bill. My apologies for posting a re-tread, but wanted to have this heard in context of similar stripped-down productions. Me and Deb Carlson, circa 2008, 1 mic, 1 guitar, 2 voices.

Lyrics
Blown Away

Screen door’s swingin’, chimes are ringin’
wind is up today
when I’m with you
I get blown away

Dandelions, flags a flyin’
Clouds across the bay
When I’m with you
I get blown away

The way the wind blows round me
I can almost fly
Five flights to the rooftop runnin’
Fallin’ into the sky

Dust motes floatin’, paper boats ‘n
Fields of wheat and rye
Like a river
They go driftin’ by

Its so easy, this gentle breezy
Way I feel with you
And when you’re present, I’m evanescent
I hope you feel it, too

Misty vapor, old newspaper
Bottles cast astray
Like a feather I get blown away

The way the wind blows round me
I can almost fly
Five flights to the rooftop runnin’
Fallin’ into the sky

Sea foam’s driftin’, leaves are liftin’
Trees all dip and sway
When I’m with you I get blown away…..

No exception...
Hi John. Glad you dug this one up out of the archives. I have really enjoyed every song I have heard of yours and this is no exception. You and Deb do a great job combining on this. The recording quality is just right too. Thanks for the posting. Warm regards, Peter.

But on gentle breeze. Nice.

Enjoyed it. Thinking of a pleasant summer's evening in the country, friends, a rare moment of easy optimism and affirmation.

Thank you

Blown Away
Good hook and the song develops it well with some really nice imagery. Pretty melody and great vocals. The second bridge "It's so easy..." stretches the AABA song form, but I think it works just as well as the first.

I really enjoy....
...your voice, John, and your sense of melody and harmony....

This has that nice vibe of being simple, but with the hint of something bigger-than-simple hiding behind those lyrics....
