Description
Wrote this a year or so ago when I was mucking round with a blues in G. Pretty derivative.... but still fun to play. Tried to make it fairly live sounding. Most of the guitar work was recorded in one take and I went with it because it sounded, well, a good representation of what I usually come up with "live". Hope it is not too mundane. Probably needed some sax or harmonica. Any takers? Should have held back and reflected more before posting but, what the heck. Regards, Peter.

Lyrics
Call me

Intro

I’m walkin’, round this old town again
I’m talkin’, but it ain’t with my best friends
I spend too much time, drinking with strange barmen

I’m sleeping, but my bed’s still cold at night
I’m dreaming, honey won’t you do me right
I’m crying, and hoping that you just might

Call me, on the telephone
Text me, for you I’m always home
I’m so sick and tired of being so all alone

Break

So I’m begging you, please just take me back
With you beside me baby, I can get my life back on track
We belong together, that’s a natural fact

Call me, on the telephone
Text me, for you I’m always home
I’m so sick and tired of being so all alone

Ohhhhhhhhhhhhh yeah!
Play it till 2027 Peter!!! Boogie is my beat and anytime I hear something this good in that line it makes me glow and my toes start tapping uncontrollably (I created a real scene here at work while listening to this). This is top class--everything from your playing to your vocal. I greatly enjoyed it, and THANK YOU for putting this on stage for us (and keep them coming!) Michael

Jazzy smile
Nice work here, Peter, on the borderline of jazz and blues to my ear. That's what rock and roll is, i suppose!

Really pleasant and compelling, as other commentators have said.

Tap, tap, tap....

Really enjoyed this!

Great
Wonderful music...my kind.

Wonder why the volume of the main vox dropped in V2. Was it to accommodate the harmony?

Great guitar internudes in the bridge and outro.

You're a wonderful writer.

Panning....
Hey Stan, thanks for finding time to have a listen to my latest. Appreciate your comments. In relation to the volume in verse 2, I was playing with the panning. In verse one the main vox was center but in verse 2 I moved it aside with the harmony balanced on the other. I didn't change the volume but panning anything to the side in GB seems to do that. I might experiment with lifting it a bit. Thanks. Regards, Peter.

fun stuff
I'm sure a jazz-influenced harp player like little walter or chris michalek would've had a field day with this one. I tried jamming along with it; I had to consciously avoid riding out the blue third, and instead forced myself to play in the high register. Very versatile song. and you executed it flawlessly. Well done!

Very nice Pete
For me, getting blues to sound "right" is really difficult, but you seem to pull it off well. Lovely bit of harmony work.

The wrong harp...
Hi Neil. I only have a C harp so I was stymied as well. It seems I have a few takers in that regards though so that is great. Thanks for your kind words. I agree, it is a but harder than is seems to get a simple blues up and running really well. Take care, Peter.

Down Home
Noting wrong with a comfortable blues song. Wow what a great sounding voice. Love the tone and clear quality. I enjoy the syncopated runs too. As a sax player I actually wonder if sax may be too much, too bombastic for this mix. Maybe harmonica or piano would suit the music better. Nicely done. Enjoyed it.

Jump blues
Hi Chris. Thanks for dropping by. Appreciate the kind words. I do have at least one taker for some harmonica, so that is good. In relation to the sax, I suppose I was thinking that it is a jump blues style of number and they tend to have some horn accompaniment, but I will probably never know :-) Take care, Peter.
