Lyrics
Seize the day win the future
(We're moving in the right direction)
Happy outcomes full color brochure
Seize the day win the future
Happy outcomes full color brochure
(You have what I want)
Don't be afraid the house always wins
Don't bet against the house
One man, one vote, you want to win don't ya?
The house never looses... don't bet against the house
Are you really like Jesus?
Happy outcomes full color brochure
Seize the day win the future
Win the day seize the future
Come what may speak in tongues now

many chiefs
yes but which one? This is an odd piece.... which is my way of saying that I dig it. You know you can hear sax to this. it feels lonely. Have you been at the house by yourself for long periods of time lately? A friend of mine left today- maybe that is what I am feeling.

Hello Andy!
Takes too long to get that, but I heard it just as you do. I have to get some stuff finished...
Bill is the only Chief I recognize... at MJ.

FUll color sound
Open and large sound on Vacant. Gives the song an aura of the title. Intentional? Rich bass and clear treble. ~2.27 is my fav change. There's only one Daug.

Hello Dix!
Your turn... a little friendly competition?
I appreciate you listening and commenting. That whole tone sequence is way cool... I enjoyed writing that one, and the girls choir on top really made the conception more effective...

very unusual
but so colourful and listenable... it's a bit like a backdrop to a film where I see people standing stunned while the world moves around them.... same sort of thing like when you go into a room and can't remember what you went in for..... I just love the treatment with the synths, vocals etc. regards M

the dawn is broken...
a future is a past dream... your vocals are not up front enough ... but i am understanding the lyrics ... I am never like Jesus...I try and fail... skepticism has a place i suppose ... but maybe not. i never bet against the house except in quarter machines.

Where The Vacant Are...
I love the repeating chordal vamp the main sections are built on. The variety of guitar and keyboard sounds make each new chord sequence sound fresh and new. A superior arrangement and pro mix!

Hello Andrew
Music and production really support the conception as well... thanks for stopping and listening to this one, you will see it everywhere soon, in different forms... but the same ideas.

This doesn't sound like anything I've ever heard before. (Experimental.) But then I don't get out much, I guess. That change at 2:21 and the recovery at 2:48 -- what a clever section that is. Excellent effects and production. Mesmerizing.

Hello Reggie
Mesmerized was the effect I was going for...
I just make what I hear, that device at 2:21 came very easily.
Thanks for your support.

loving this daug. it's so rich and different...but at the same time really accessible....then it goes off on and one which is cool....and then it comes back and we're in the groove again. really cool track....thought it was too short....but then saw 4 and a half minutes had flown. excellent.

Good to hear your vocals, I don't remember hearing them from past posts. The chord progression is gentle, and the instrumentation lulls us into relaxation. However, I'm sensing more than a little skepticism & cynicism from the lyric. I guess musically that is expressed more overtly @ 2:21. Cool tune.

Hey Dave!
You sense skepticism and cynicism? Naw. Never, such things would not be tolerated.
This one will become more illustrative of a class of people as time goes on... it was important to get this one out before the news cycle conforms to the next programing upload.

There are three different snares on this. I thought you would love the rhythmic flow ...3/4 all the way at about 74 BPM. Watch that break, the "one" gets moved a bit...
Thanks for the kind words.

I'm pretty sure I've never heard
anything quite like this, I think you just created a new genre, and I'm wondering if it was intentionally composed or constructed to be hypnotic? By that I mean like putting MSG in Chinese food? lol, but seriously, this piece is strangely hypnotic, in a very good way, in fact I think I love it!

JD in the House
Yes JD, the piece was intentionally composed. The effect you described is what I wanted, yet I might describe, or think about it, differently. I wanted to draw the listener "in". One of best ways to do that is to attempt to have the listener become "active" in the experience. Email me for details if you are interested.
Thanks for your support. I appreciate your listens.
