Lovely blending of sounds! I like how the sounds weave in and out. The artwork suits this very well too. Good job.

I didn't realize composers in the 16th century were this harmonically adventurous. I love how you stretch the use and sound of recorders. Beautiful post Vic!

This one
sounds subtly ominous like a fire and brimstone sermon delivered by a usually shy preacher. At any rate I feel guilty about something now. ;)
Very serious. Very majestic, as well. Thanks.

wow vic, this is quite amazing! really gives your recorder skills room to reveal themselves - what cool work! "harmonically adventurous" - that's a good way that andrew put it. sounds like it should be impossible to put altogether the way you have done so beautifully here. you said in chat you weren't quite comfortable with this, or at peace with it - something along those lines - i'm wondering why!

Polyphonic Monks
Really complex sound, well blended, with what sounds to me like an authentic historical ambience.

It reminded me of all the different characters that must have come together in any monastic setting, producing, despite their differences, a beautifully harmonic sound.

Really enjoyed this.

Thanks Victor!

Renaissance sound with 21st century harmonies. Fascinating and hypnotic.

i know nothing about this type of music, but this is excellent. i am loving the wild harmonies, especially the beginning of the song when it is more dissonant. those low notes are really cool sounding; love the way they kind of growl and I can hear the air moving. this is perfect for a soundtrack.

calming
and melodic as well as beautifully recorded..... I never knew one could get so much melody from a recorder years ago. I only tried it a couple of times and never knew whether to suck or blow.... so I bow to you, regards M

reminds me of the
opening to the Godfather film....not the same tune but that sort of single note bleakness...cool.

you have to love....
You just have to love Macjams.. where else can you go and hear thrash metal one min. And something this smooth and breathy as this? This is just so nice. The wood really comes though! nice!

You are quite eclectic!
I didn't realize the analog talent you possess! Hearing the electronic pieces I wonder..what oscillators, envelopes and filters did you use for the flute sound? :)

Seriously, this is cool! Nice arrangement and production.

looks like about 9 o'clock to me
in the picture - I was reading some stuff about this hour just now; symbolism, from the condemnation of Christ and to the Pentecost..

I don't know how that fits with this piece, but certainly it lends itself to a meditative pause in prayer.

Not the predictable 3/4 melody one expects from Renaissance. This one is dark and mysterious. I really like it. Dissonant, but complementary. Thanks for posting.
