HUNDRED YEARS

Get Flash to see this player.

Description
I had this bluesgroove on the shelf and my friend Bingsolex wanted to do something with it. He added a kind of bridge and did the guitar and my younger brother Stevie played the Hammond.
It is a song about my grandma. She was born in 1900 and died in 2002, almost 102 years old. She was here during the whole 20th century and has seen major changes.
I hope you like the song

Lyrics
HUNDRED YEARS

One hundred years
You lived to be
One hundred years
You lived to be
One hundred years
It’s your destiny

These are times of so many changes
These are times and you’ve seen them all
Two world wars, a man on the moon
E equals mc square (E=MC2), the atomic boom

One hundred years
A blessing or a curse
One hundred years
A blessing or a curse
You’ve seen the best
And you witnessed the worst

Grandchildren
Great-grandchildren
A smile on your face
When you watch them play

Cees Swart (2002-2011)

Hammond
This rings big for me . My mother is an organ player. She used to have either a M-100 or A -100 I cant remember. Ill ask. But now she still plays in a scotch and soda type of thing these days at almost 80. She might live to be 102 as well. Had to listen twice, Nice blues and sound and feel!!

love this song Cees, really great laid back groove. A nice feel, the keys are superb, same for the guitars and vocals, you write some great tunes and this is a real fav.
Great lyrics too, very much enjoyed.
Thanks for the D/L

groooovy cool. love the new addition to the bingo-swarto duo...that hammond organ rocks all the way to the end of the pier. cool solo on that, and bing's guitar also. weird...woke up this morning having had a very vivid dream about my grandfather's death...and then logged into macjams and got pointed to this.

another great track cees.

In that 100 years
people went from horses to space shuttles, amazing century, and amazingly well written and performed song that pays tribute to your beautiful Grandmother and that century, I love the vibe! And I agree, was it a blessing or a curse, there's a talk on "Ted" that this guy does that demonstrates how much more civil the world is now by far though it doesn't seem it, by comparrison it's much less violent, interesting.

can't even imagine the changes g'ma had seen. she saw computers go from using an entire building to fitting into a backpack; music from a wind-up gramaphone to fitting in your pocket...and so much more. that amazes me. I'm not at all a religious person, but i bet she enjoyed the hell out of this when she heard it.

she has seen a lot of bad things as well, she lived in the southern part of Holland close to belgium when the first world war broke out. The heavy fighting was not far away, and then the second world war , this time with a German occupation, having three kids in their teens
That ain't easy...

Cool
i expect any song of yours to be brilliantly produced and arranged, with a cool, even, easy sound and i was not disappointed, Cees!

Great listening experience as always. i'm going to have to put an album of yours on a CD and listen to it in the car sometime. The only trouble is i only have a little beaten up offroader and not the cool motor that would bring out the music properly!

Great song. Thanks, man.
