This could almost be your "Black Mountain Side!" Great central Asian flavor. I know you may have been thinking Africa, but Asia has its own sizable jungles.

Jungle Bravery
Not an obvious instrument for a jungle theme, solo guitar, so i think you were pretty brave to try it!

You do it well and put together a good tune, although without the title or the animal noises, i don't know whether a jungle would have suggested itself?

Wouldn't have a clue how to make it do so, by the way!

Thinking about it, i should be thinking of the piece as a whole and not a single part in isolation. In that sense it works well. i'll give myself a slap.

An enjoyable piece. i'm sorry that you scared the dog!

Primeval
I think I was in that jungle in my dreams last night. Fun piece. Open tuning or straight? Love the ascending and descending lines and then the little bursts of Arabian Nights. The muted bass lines while playing the chords is very effective also. Bill you are just a master in his prime. You could probably make all those jungle beasts line up and do the hootchy Kootchy if you wanted.

Straight out of the deep jungle...
Hi Bill. Interesting idea to use acoustic guitar on a jungle song but it comes together really well. Nice mix of chorded and picked guitar with some chords straight out of the deep jungle. I agree re the Indian feel (but then again, there are jungles in India). Nice work. Regards, Peter.

hi bill came to you via macjams radio (waltzing). wow...you're amazing. i love the disonance on this mixed with the positive melodic. ha....amused by the keywords. i was initially put off by the jungle sound effects...until i heard the bluebottles (or jungle equivalents).
this is a gem of a creation. total fan.

Your time and phrasing...
...are nice and tight on this, Bill, and I really like the tune itself... The tone of your guitar is resonant without getting boomy or fluffy....

On my set-up the mix works better over headphones than over my speakers; on the speakers, the animal bits intrude a bit on the sense of the tune... EXCEPT that over the headphones that buzzing fly that pans around gets a bit distracting....

I like the thunderclap at the very end....
