Lyrics
when you wake up
and it feels like its further away
you get discouraged
could it have really gone unnoticed

what you're tryin to find
isn't so black or so white
it's more rooted in faith and less in fate
what you're tryin to find
isn't so gift-wrapped, so signed
its less earned and more so graced

on the panama city canal
cryin on the steps of a trailer down south
countin the change under flourescants mid-town
wakin up discouraged with no one around

when you look up
and the clock its just tickin away
you get discouraged
can it really go unnoticed

what you're tryin to find
isn't so black or so white
it's more rooted in faith and less in fate
what you're tryin to find
isn't so gift-wrapped, so signed
its less earned and more so graced

on the panama city canal
cryin on the steps of a trailer down south
countin the change under flourescants mid-town
wakin up discouraged with no one around
(she could be miles away)

when you wake up
and it feels like its slippin away
don't get discouraged,
it won't be coming today.

I was drawn in right away by those beautiful chord changes! You write amazing songs! This arrangement is wonderful (bells and plucked strings). Why aren't you famous? Downloaded!

Quality vocals
Hi AP. The guitar work at the start draws you in immediately and then your quality vocals kick in and the song is away. Really strong lyrics supported by sparse but interesting instrumentation. Good song! Your voice is good enough to not need vocal overlays all the way through. I would mix it up a bit. At some stages the lead vocal also sounded a bit hot in the mix? A bit of EQ tweaking might help. Well done. Warm regards, Peter.

nice guitar tone. I like the doubled vocal- perfect fit for the tune. Ooooo, is that a glockenspiel? wonderful. I don't think this is too much all. Very good job. and a uke? A.P. this is a very listenable song, lots of emotion and unexpected sounds. thanks for sharing it.

Indeed
A.P. Hebert strikes. The mallets are just too thin, but I always hear that.
Thanks, great tune. The harmony line on this one is sweet. The production on this is clever and while maybe the Dave Mathews trademark is violated, who cares- rave on!
