Where Time Meets Space

This is a mix to go with the news of the Crab Nebula light discovery. (Gamma radiation I believe). It's over 11 minutes long.

The sounds are produced with a synth called Ultra Swamp Pro. (I'm gonna have lots of fun with this synth, I'm sure).

One instance of the synth made all the sounds, spaced out with Ambience 'verb and Stereo Touch (from Voxengo).

I'm telling you, I never get tired of listening to your pieces. Had to pause it for a few, but was so happy to resume it while enjoying my evening coffee. Awesome, as always!

Check out my latest song called Tattooed Scars (w/ Sigmund, Scofugate, Rok41)

Hi Dani....
I'm always happy that my mixes can lead to a coffee moment (or two) for someone. I had to pause the production as I had a phone call in the middle of recording this that I had to answer. Still it seemed to come out OK in the end.

Always happy to have you stop by.

Take care.

Yes, I managed two cups. Morning Nescafe only, sadly. Nicely done Paul. Nice ambient chill, before I have to do some awful pending paperwork.

The Ambience Reverb, btw, is a good piece of kit. I must use it more often.

Hi Dave.....
I have used the Ambience reverb for a long while now. That and Voxengo Stereo Touch give my music the depth/breadth sometimes that they need.

Take care.

Guaranteed to be good
I know that anything you post is going to be most enjoyable as a very deep and contemplative listen. The musical message is in the timings, the pace, the evolution, harmonies. As with any tune I suppose, but your work makes these qualities more naked and therefore obvious as to how well they are handled.

Do you manually (or via sequencer) tweak any of the synth parameter settings as the piece plays or do you just set it up and let it go, only providing new notes for the synth to play from a midi keyboard/sequencer? Or do you have another approach?

Many thanks for the download Paul,

PS Thanks for the heads up about the Crab Nebula radiation story. Most interesting.

Hi Doug.....
I've dropped you a quick note on how I put together my music.

Thanks for your kind words. The 'deep and contemplative listen' is just what my pieces require.

I too found the Crab Nebula story very interesting.

Take care.

Ah, too late for coffee. I'll stare out at the night sky. Gamma rays. Violence. The music is far too tranquil for the Crab. Floating-through-space music. Rereading Ringworld by Niven. This goes nicely. Excellent.

Hi Duane......
I hear what you're saying about the Crab Nebula but the Hubble phot that I saw looked so calm. That will teach me!!

I also have read some of the Ringworld novels. I enjoyed them very much, especially the idea of all that area being both available and used. What a tremendous concept.

Take care.
