My Stripper Wife

Description
A little repetitive musically. I have to learn how to write bridges and other parts to keep it interesting. Not sure if all the voices hit the right notes during the chorus - I lost ear objectivity several listens ago.

Lyrics
Long ago
I never thought I'd be the last to know
I always thought that she was wonderful
But then she told me that she had to go . . . oh no!

My little son
He came and asked if it was something that he had done
I took his hand
And then I told him that I had a plan

We'll find a pretty young stripper
With 36 Ds
In the day she'll play with you
And at night she'll play with me

She will cook and clean
And take out the trash
She'll work two nights a week
And bring home lots of cash

I got my wish
My dreams came true
I found a stripper wife
And she had just turned 22

The wedding was nice
But I must confess
The guests were all surprised
When she danced without her wedding dress

Honeymoon bliss
A place so very, very far
She even paid for the trip
By stripping in the hotel bar

I have a pretty young stripper wife
With 36 Ds
When I give her twenty dollars
I can do what I please

She cooks and cleans
And takes out the trash
She works two nights a week and
brings home lots of cash

Now and then
I fear the ex wife is coming back again
To ruin our perfect life
And maybe even hurt my beautiful stripper wife

I changed the locks
And I got all new keys
It didn't help
She boiled our pet rabbit in a pot for me

I sit down alone
In our brand new custom kitchen
Bought by my stripper wife
And then I notice that our rabbit tastes a lot like chicken

Sleep writing?
Not the most PC lyrics running around but musically the piano work and your vocals are very good. Have you woken from your dream yet? Regards, Peter.

Rabbit
can be quite tasty with some buffalo hot sauce and blue cheese for dipping. Thanks for listening and commenting.

Randy Newman Lives!
I thought this was quite funny which I am sure was the point. Get a sense of humor folks! Not sure I got the last three or four verses about the ex-wife though. I would just leave those out but then maybe it was just me.
Nice piano playing and good vocal for a story song.

I suppose
I could have left the ex-wife out entirely. I had some additional lyrics I could have used instead, such as "she never throws tantrums, never has fits. I built a stage in the basement so she could practice her splits." Thanks for listening.

Cool
I wouldn't mind having a stripper husband, just saying...

Teehee, this was quite funny. Very creative & so darn deceiving because it was sung so nice & to such a pretty melody. Great stuff!

My Stripper Wife
LOL! The lyric is all the more funny against the sincere sounding vocal and backer. Send it to Seth MacFarlane man. Perfect for Brian's fantasy sequence on "Family Guy".

Thanks
I love the Family Guy reference. I once almost posted a pic of old man Herbert with one of my songs because there were too many whistling sounds when I vocalized the "S" sound. But I didn't think anyone would get the joke. Thanks for listening and commenting.

she must work in an upscale joint
just two nights a week? i guess i've always associated with the wrong class of stripper. love your serious approach to this. randy newman for sure. love the 'she even paid for the trip' line - hilarious. i might delete the 3 verses about the ex wife also - better without them. great stuff dude.

I think you were
somewhat distracted. I'd keep the song about the new wife and leave out the "fatal attraction" reference. She left you, after all. No good reason to be making trouble. And, you're so much better off. How did you know that that was how women do their ironing? Smirk. Thanks.

Cool
Maybe I should have left out the verses about the ex-wife. I also wasn't sure if anyone would catch the silly rabbit boiling reference (Fatal Attraction). You did. Thanks for giving it a listen and commenting.

this really reminds me...
... of a song. I can't put my finger on it, but it has a similar pleasant melody line... quite nice. Obviously the lyrics are purposefully set juxtapose to the musical sound bed. So musically this does really work and invites the listener. Still, given the story it is a bit of an odd combination. Don't take me wrong... a very polished and musically pleasing song. Just some dissonance going on as I listen.

I know
exactly what you are saying about the lyrics not really going with the music. I had a piano part that I liked and I wanted to do something with it, even if it was a joke. Thanks for listening and commenting.

Funny song.....
Because I know someone that this happened too...He works for me.....
I own a stripper bar, here in Canada....hahahaha.... Think I'll let him
hear this and see what he does with his face.....hahahaha......

You played the tune really cool like, but I was wondering why you didn't just take the bridge that the melody and chord pattern came
from, I think it's a Barry Manalow tune....???

Think that's how he spells his last name.......

Anyway Nice Vocals and mix.....Well written lyrics.....

Thanks my
northern neighbor. If you happen to look at this reply, I'd be curious is you could shoot me the name of the Barry Manilow song that this sounds like. I didn't consciously take anything from him but I wonder if I did on a subconscious level. I am happy for your employee, and a bit jealous.

ahahahahaha!!! oh gawd, it's good!!
that's some seriously good piano, and your serious (and solid) vocal delivery of the seriously whack story makes it impossible not to smile. oooo - what a seriously serious instrumental break. your rhythm against the vocal melody works a treat. thank you - great job, anne

So earnest and so insane
This is right up my alley. Love the contrast of soft music against the crazy lyrics. A very easy listen indeed.

Unexpected...
With such pretty piano playing you wouldn't expect such funny lyrics about a stripper that takes out the trash. Let alone buy you a custom kitchen for you and your son. Your friends would say you had died and gone to heaven-too funny.

Enjoyed it! Thanks for sharing.

Funny...
How some don't seem to get the whole tongue in cheek nature to this song! I think it's brill - very clever with a hilarious story over a classic sounding melody. This is probably why people think they've heard it before. It's simply a great song!

Keep coming back to this site to listen to this ha! Get's me every time!

Certainly think it would work commercially in the right context. E.g. Family Guy etc. Love it ha!
