Description
an oldie -- I asked God help me pick another one to remake for Halp, flicked the trackpad and let iTunes land on a song. this one is what landed. it was originally recorded with Mattel Synsonics drum around 1983. I used a BPM counter and estimated 123. WHEN I DIALED IT IN WITH LOGIC IT MATCHED PERFECTLY. matching an analog drum part to a digital counter 28 years later is a miracle :-) as a homage I included the original sort of like Natalie and Nat King Cole (that was spooky) but in this case it's both me. you can hear Synsonics drum popping in a break there, with original Moog from back in the day. I do thank God for helping me with this song ;-) well, it is about His home! hope when I get there I can sing properly.

Lyrics
want no reason to be sad free my mind for I'm glad
find an answer success waits heavens so near ain't it great

want to see you to hold close free my soul for the most sensation

but heavens so near heavens so near heavens so near oh
heavens so near heavens so near heavens so near oh

want to make it to the shore freedoms waiting for a door
find a key sink so low self indulgence ain't a go

want to see you to hold close free my soul for the most sensation

but heavens so near heavens so near heavens so near oh
heavens so near heavens so near heavens so near oh oh

heavens so near heavens so near heavens so near oh
heavens so near heavens so near heavens so near oh
heavens so near heavens so near heavens so near oh
heavens so near heavens so near heavens so near oh
heavens so near heavens so near heavens so near oh ….

Cool
Got to like that moog sound. It's pretty cool to dig up an old tune and bring it to life ... it does scream foe a Zappa break somewhere.

this whole project
is retooling glad I broke the moog out the cage so it could rage. learned the secret -- leave it ON all the time, it stays warmed up and doesn't drift outa tune as much. can you believe bob moog's excuse he just thoujt people would use them for sound effects he says he didn't know they'd try and play music with them !!!?thanks buddy!

Eddie of music past meets Eddie of music present! The two decide to embrace the folding of the space time continuum and make cool music together!

lol
I feel as though I've lived several lifetimes -- iterations coming going folding repeating bouncing all over the place mostly off the walls. moving forward turning back standing still. this is a fun project and I've wanted to redo these songs for over 25 years. when I recorded them I always knew they were rough drafts. technology is helping save studio money even if the results arent as professional ;-) rock and roll high school!

just a free dashboard widget with a fancy name I think it's called bpm counter lol it works good enough but I've never seen an analog drum perfectly align to a digital bpm like this. like I said miraculous and God had to be involved maybe He's happy I'm quitting smoking ;-) thanks freddy
