In Praise of Morning (A Muddled Mind Mix)

Description
This is a very rough draft of a future string and tenor choir classical piece. I have loads of these themes in my head and some of them have been there for twenty or thirty years. They are my retirement pieces. To work on when I have more leisure time to devote to them.

This piece is also tentatively titled 'Elation'. In this draft the piece develops albeit slowly over four or so minutes in a very simplistic way. The loadest part of the piece is reached quite early and then the rest of the piece fades away, as the sun comes over the horizon.

Hi Harald......
I love the mornings and evenings, when the sun is just coming up or when it's sinking into the horizon. I've had the theme in my head for a couple of years but never bothered to make it into a soundscape. This is the first draft.

I'm glad you enjoyed the piece.

Take care.

Paul

Beautiful
In a different way than your usual stuff. But I really liked this one. Maybe simplistic, but sometimes that's just more than enough... Thanks a bunch, and looking forward to the next version as well.

Take care,
Henke

Hi Henke....
I think that the simplicity works in favour of the mix. The chord sequence is one of my favourite. I use it a lot to do improvisations when I'm without any ideas to put to music.

There will be other versions. I don't know when.

Take care.

Excellent tone poem
I could see how you could develop this further.

Hi Bud.....
Yes. The tone poem description works very well. It is the beginning of a song without words piece. That is why I think it will be better made in a classical way. The melody is strong enough to allow me to do this.

I will develop this more over the next while.

Take care.

So spiritually uplifting
The chords and effects you're working with are winners when it comes to plucking heart strings Paul. Bit of a shock when the big lead enters but it's riff is spot on and I found myself looking forward to it's return, perhaps a tad more softening or lengthening on that .... but I am suitably elated never-the-less - Serena x

Hi Serena....
Yes. There were so many unfinished bits and pieces that I had to label it experimental. The finished piece will be orchestra and voices.

The nature of the melody was such that I felt that 4 minutes or so was enough. The final version will be a lot longer and with variations on the theme and anything else I can add to make the piece a proper piece of music.

Take care.

This
is a warmer than usual work by you Paul and I was definately in the mood for it today. Laid back and very inviting.
Cheers,

Hi Charlie......
This sort of music is my 'proper music' as I like to say. The Ambient and other stuff I churn out is arranged and then forgotten. The classical pieces I have in my head are finished and have been there years, playing over from time to time when I recall them. The hard part is transposing the melodies into arrangements in Notation or some other music package and then getting the sounds to play correctly.

One day.....

Take care.
