Drop (1 Synth Challenge)

Description
My (very late) submission for the 1 synth challenge (which I came up with, and unforgivably didn't submit to on time). Anyway - all TAL all the time (17 tracks), no mastering effects or nuthin'. Not the greatest musical effort, but what I could fit into the last 24 hours around work. And I promise that I didn't listen to anyone else's before I did mine...

Update: hear a version of the piece fully remastered using plugin processing on all channels and Ozone mastering across the main mix channel: http://macjams.com/song/69301

Symphonic!
Very dramatic piece - you put the TAL through its paces. Nice work. I can sense movements in the overall piece. A few abrupt shifts but very well mixed and performed.

Yeah
Well I could probably have handled a couple of the transitions better...mostly the middle transition when I go to the recap of the first section. I've been really busy with work lately and really spent only about 4 hours on this, so it's a little rough in places. Thanks for the listen and the comment. --G

Glorious!
You're really good at getting think symphonic textures out of, eh, pretty much anything. Muchly, if somewhat belatedly, enjoyed.

Unintentional
I actually was aiming at something more like a dance track but I ended up with this orchestral sounding thing. Oh well. Thanks for getting it posted in the thread. I know I was really late. Also, thanks for the listen.

TALly up another one...
pretty, sparkly, rich and love those glisses. A Lot of fun musical ideas got poured into a short time!

TAL TAL for now,

Finding my Gliss
I noticed a couple of other people had issues with how to predict where a gliss was headed. I basically played a really low note about 4 measures before where I wanted the gliss to start, then used volume automation to mute out that part, so all you hear is the upward gliss (aiming for that THX Deep Note sound).

Time is overerated
Creativity and intensity flow much better sometimes when there isn't enough time!

I was hoping you'd jump on that challenge. I'm not familiar with TAL but am amazed at the variety of sounds and themes you're able to produce within the challenge rules. Comments like 'symphonic' and 'glorious' for a one synth challenge?! Excellent job. So how do we vote? :)

Just good clean fun! Thanks for your comments, always appreciated. It was actually a little harder to get it not grungy-sounding than I originally thought. The arrangement isn't the greatest but I enjoyed it nevertheless.

Better tal than never
You did a great job here - really brought a lot of variety out of that tough little machine. Thanks for birthing the concept - I really enjoyed it.

Guilty
Thanks for drop-ing by! I felt guilty about not having done one, so I kind of rushed it out the door, but I think it came out ok. It was harder to get a clean sound than I thought.

Epic
WHen this first started, I thought it was a really good video game type them song background. I could image navigating levels in a conquest type knight game. But it kept getting better, subtly epic, and could be a Tron or Legend soundtrack. Nicely done. My fav of the synth challenge.

Preroll
Thanks for the listen Tobin. I just listened to it again after a week and noticed how abrupt the start is. I think I needed a measure of preroll before the music starts, since it feels a little cut off to me. I never realized how much I've come to rely on processing to get a clean sound...this definitely proved to be a challenge to keep from having it get muddy (maybe spending more than 4-5 hours would have helped too).
