Sorrow-clouded eyes
Starring at the distant skies
The way is barred to me
Soft choiring of delight
Remember the days when the sun shone bright
Now I'm on my way

Picking up, picking up
Pieces of my mind
Picking up, picking up
Picking up, picking up
Pieces of my mind
Picking up, got to pick up the
Pieces of my mind
Pieces of my mind

Lonely heart fills with pain
Slowly walking in the rain
But where am I going ?
Night wind's bitterly cold
Attacking me like the falling snow
Still I'm on my way

** Repeat chorus **

Frilling of flowers
Impulses of April
But I'm as sad as the seabird
going forth alone………….

** Repeat chorus ***
** Instrumental fade-out ***

Pretty Cool
Great song, well written and arranged. Not too sure the electric guitar sounds are doing it justice though, they are good in places but a little artificial in others. Love the overall feel though, the harmonies are really sweet.

Good hook
Hi Mike. Nice, light pop feel with a good hook in the chorus. Clever choice of artwork. Not sure the piano outro adds much to the whimsical nature of the song. Regards, Peter.

Nice & listenable
Really nice melody and full of bounce. I think the electro guitar gives it a bit of "edge", and love that solo at 3:04

Warm feel, augmented by strong vocals & harmonies. Reminds me of Oasis. I think the BIB guitar helps in some contexts, not in others.

Picking up Pieces
There are some really lovely acoustic guitar chords in here! The vocals have a distinctly Neil-Young-soft-voice quality, which is very effective. There is also a very pretty synth sound going on in the background that I can't quite identify, but it is really nice. This was delightful to listen to! This is one of those cool songs that have super-depressing lyrics coupled with a major key, which I have always thought is really neat.

great stuff
as usual. especially like the chorus. is that midi guitar? if so i'd like to hear it with 'real' guitar. but you've got a great way with a hook. really like the vocals and the phrasing. has a great 80's indie feel.

Well done
The instrumental mix is top notch. Excellent bridge. Like to hear the vox up just a touch though. Great structure.

I am simply a music lover, all kinds of music ranging from classical to hard rock. Unfortunately I do not play any instruments nor can I read notes. However, that has not stopped me from composing songs of my own. I normally create my melodies ... [see more]
