2 thumbs up ... it almost sound authentic. All that's missing is the crackling of the old record. Way to lay down that harp. This is very real!

Well two thumbs up
and I am ecstatic, hopefully job done....I have tried all sorts of styles of blues and have actually even been told off for having the temerity to even try playing them (!)....this is encouraging

Thanks

Ive only ever heard the blues brothers version of this. Nice to hear a downtempo version of it, you play this ridiculously well and you sing it damn well too. One of my favourite tunes off the blues brothers cd and you do it some serious justice. Massively impressed
Jarvoid said 2067 days ago (July 25th, 2011)
I think that the BB 's version is superb....
but it needs the full Blues Band sound ....I looked around the room before I did this and I did not see a Blues Band ,just me old guitar and a harp....no brainer

Thanks Neil

You're
really coming into your own now Chris..... making real headway in every direction, instrumentally vocally and recording-wise..... this is great and very authentic sounding..... love the harmonica and the guitar..... vocals shine too, regards M

Gruffly,gravelly
and grindingly slow I feel is the way to go with this type of close to the bone and the spirit music. We learn all the time. Thanks Maurice.

Way to go Chris
It's great to hear this song from you. First off, you are singing it and sound very good. Nice simple guitar, harp back track works great for the song.

My one nit, is you've got a little too much reverb on the vocal, but other than that it works.

Great throw my friend, I do love it and will be downloading it as soon as I'm done typing this.

Someone else has
mentioned the reverb, not a problem,I can fix that with a different.....Just not sure ,they mentioned "plate"....this was "medium snare room" the names are no help whatsoever to me !!

Thanks for dropping in Ed

Cheers

I really worked on restraining the harp
on this ,as a relative novice I think that I overwork it sometimes. This is hopefully close to the mark. Thanks for the input.

Very well done
I really like this old delta blues sound. I think the reverb in this is a tad odd. Not sure if you can change it, but I would try a plate reverb or something of that nature if you can. Very nice harp playing too. Enjoyed it!

I will have a look
at changing the reverb,"Plate" is on the cubase menu for reverb so should be no problemo....don't know what it means though !

Thanks for stopping and giving some input ,greatly appreciated....

Living in Chicago too
I hear this song every time I go to Kingston Mines (a quite known blues bar) and got somehow tired of the typical uptempo Claptonian treatment. This is sooooo refreshing man. Love the way you recorded it, the sound of the room. Great harmonica!

Jarvoid said 2063 days ago (July 29th, 2011)
Thanks Bliiy
...I know what you mean about "uptempo Clapton treatment" ---in fact I think that is what I get annoyed with him for.....all his Blues are uptempo....I mean he is a super guitarist but sometimes slow and sensitive wins the day...I think that this song works either way but I seem to be the first to put a certain world weariness into the phrase "come on....." resignation and pissed off being is it to me my padowans .....lol

Thanks for the great comment See you later...
