Description
I was listening to a friend playing the piano accordion last weekend and she ran through a few styles, one immediately struck a chord (yeah okay...
Cajun or Zydeco it was ...I tried to find some thing similar on Macjams but could only find one song by Loob...(http://www.macjams.com/song/69261) in the notes he said that the accordionist was a rocker who hated playing accordion....and it gave me an idea....what about a rocker played cajun (with apologies to the real Cajun and Zydeco fans and musicians out there) style or my English tight arsed interperetation of said style....so mangling together Carl Fogarty's Rocking All Over The World, made famous on our shores by our own seemingly evergreen rockers Status Quo I give you ..with Yamaha PSR K 1 fulfillinf Accordion duties," Zydecorocking All Over The World "....and again with apologies to the true proponents and indigenous people of that part of the world..............light blue touch paper and .....f off ...rapid

I suppose as this is technically a cover ....(although more a serious
deconstruction and a rebuild) I will not keep it up for too long....so there.....

accordion rules
this is lots of fun - you can't not tap your foot and smile - the changes and variety keep it moving right along and keeps it interesting all the way through

thanks

Basically
I just busked my idea and to my ear a version of the song and kept changing the direction of the keys in playing the melody....threw in some little triplets and had a bag og laughs doing it .

Cheers Bill

Chris, you always bring such a creative sense of just plain fun into your much of your music, and I don't which I enjoy most, the fun or the music--they are both great. I've always been fond of this style of Cajun music and its wonderful to hear you do it! Thanks again for adding some sunniness to this joint! Michael

raw
sounds like you're playing on a small-town bandstand in the '20s. Love it. Your harpwork is really coming along, you've got a nice tone. I'd still say try to get more single notes and/or tongue block your chords more tightly. Great work!

Thanks for the support little dude
it has helped me be determined to crack this mouth organ monster....and I like to think there has been some progress so that is encouraging to read what you write.....the rest was just pure 100% played as it was and got down in about a couple of takes for t5he git and one for the fake Accordion (PSR s are super 120 midi and 375 Yammy vox, great) and then a big stir withg a mixing spoon !!

Cheers

So we have a moment of seriousness and then boooooooooooooooooooom!! I kinda dig what you have done here, its a classic tune given the full Jarvo treatment and you havent done it a disservice in the slightest. Hectic yes, but great fun and Ive listened to it 4 times so it has to be good! Oh but I like my Cajun Chicken with chips and mayo thankyou!

Well even nicer of you
to make a nice comment if you are not a fan ...Thanks.

I suppose it is a different and slightly odd style from what I have heard.....singing sometimes seems slightly waily and the f*****g Accordions seem to go a million miles an hour....still.

Well finally got back and am listening right now Chris...
Man does this have a lot of character... Luziana big time... Love it. You've even captured the vocal style. About the only thing I didn't care for was the drums.... I get the feeling you made them cheezy purposely, but still... A real toe tapper and a good strong feel! I'm gonna go get me some catfish and hushpuppies.... I digs!

Yeah
You are right the drums area bit cheezy....I was not confident enough to leave the triangle as a stand alone percussion but maybe if
I remix and amend some of the little bloopers..........nice to see ya digs cheers ....Cajun with a north of England twist...

No tight arse here
this is pretty loose and swampy if you ask me. Very cool take on the genre and a lot of fun too. Takes a little while to find it's feet then it's off and running. Check out Hasil Adkins sometime for an interesting production style.

Guitar
Cool track until that guitar comes in. I thought somehow my computer started playing something entirely different. Sonically it doesn't fit at all with the accordion, although idiomatically it does.

does not blend with each other....still 1/2 a failed experiment is better than a complete disaster eh ?

George Formby does Zydeco?
Right then, this is tremendous fun Chris. I can't stop smiling. Very creative use of the amalgam of instruments and use of the deconstuctive analysis of American roots music.

Brilliant!
