Description
Just found this... a rediscovered nugget from '06. Had just started working with GB back then. Three years before first MJ post.

An early rough demo complete with pitchy harmony, minimalist break and dog barking at end! But it has a sort of innocent charm, that I like. I'm just trying to get the song down in a documentary way to play for my duet partner, who could really nail this harmony.

I was trying for a 50's Louvin Bro's vibe. One wag said he thought it sounded more like a Porter Wagner/Dolly Parton song from the early 60's. Hell, I'll take that!

Photo is the park across the street from my house.

Loved it!
A really nice feel. I think it sounds more 30s or 40s country but whatever it's very enjoyable.

Thanks, Dick. I agree, 30's or 40's...a little Carter Family in the break; singing like the Blue Sky Boys or something.

The relaxed vibe and sincere vocal deliver the lyric's message of devotion really well. Repetition of the hook should make this stick with listeners.

Warm
Good old-fashioned sentiments in the lyrics. Front porch feel. Sparse arrangement that suits the song, although it would be good to hear it worked up with stronger attack in the harmony. Love that dawg barking! Thanks for sharing it!

Portent of things to come...
Hi John. You can hear many of the stylistic influences that characterise your later work. I also can hear Willie doing this at one of his shows. Nice, feel good song with harmonies that work just fine for the front (or back) porch.
Thanks. Regards. Peter.

Jarvoid mentions Delaney and Bonny as an influence. We used sing "Never Ending Love" around the house.

Well the heart of the thing...
...is the song itself, and the song itself will support plenty of arranging and working on....It's well worth reviving.... This is the sort of thing that Ronstadt, Parton and Harris would have enjoyed working up in three part.... Or, heck, the Everly Brothers....

Thanks, Ed. I like the song a lot, too. Hope to try a little tighter version one day. Thanks for your comments!

This has
the sort of sound of the type of band that would have played the sort of song sort of like "I have An Everlasting Love For You" do you know the sort of band I mean and what sort of genre they were, sort of thing ? Well thats
that sorted then !

Thoroughly delightful and beautifully played, going to get me a downloade over here ,sort of.Cheers

Thanks!
For all the kind comment, folks.

Jarvoid--that's "Never Ending Love For You" by Delaney and Bonny from 1970. I'd call it Country/pop music, played stripped down with a live feel.
