Description
Something a little different. I thought about the storms in America and the situation in Libya and some of the forum subjects here and this came out of the melting pot.

Beware self-appointed guru's. What I used to hate about MJ's is now what I can step back from and live with and realise that it's a small part of the world that we occupy here. Empty vessels make the most sound. Most sounds decay over time. You just have to have the time to wait for the silence.

Bring on the music.

Nice sounds, foreboding atmosphere indeed. A bit cinematic too I think. Dark clouds gathering on the horizon.

Hi aRcTip.....
Yes the piece is dark and foreboding. It is an expression of anguish and how my mind is with respect to the current state of the world both from a nature point of view and from humanity and how they are behaving, in such an irresponsible way. I let off steam occasionally and this is that occasion.

Some of the forum subjects also get my goat.

Take care.

I've just come back from a bit of a folky get together, three acoustic musicians playing, a lot like listening to the Spinners! Your "Spinners", however, not like that at all. Dark and foreboding, great sounds you weave. Perfect for the scenarios you've mentioned.

I agree with your comments too.

Hi Dave....
The musicians sound as though they would be good. The Spinners were never my cup of tea, except where they do the (I think) Cobbler's Song, with the actions of a cobbler mimed by one of the group whilst the others sing and play.

My stuff is going down a dark road, and has been for a while. Who knows where things will end?

Take care.

Hi Bryn.....
I think the short answer is....Guts. I don't have any and doing music for films (or anybody else) incurs resposibility and confidence in my work and I don't have much confidence and my responsibilities these days are outside of music altogether. That may change but I'm going with the flow at the moment. I can't do any different. It's a family thing that's playing out.

My song notes are the way I see MJ's and yes, it's taken me a while to get to grips with.

Take care.

Paul

Hi Harald.....
Welcome back after your short break from MJ's.

The picture you paint about my mix is very evocative. Will have to listen to the piece again and think about it some more.

Take care.

Spin state
Dark, heavy, profound. Storm clouds approaching, and we're entirely aware of them.

Hi Duane....
Yeah....The storm clouds approacheth (and fast). This is one of those Nadir Moments, before the Zenith Moment approaches.

I have my fingers crossed. Maybe that's why I can't play the notes I want and always settle for these type of soundscapes?? Don't really know.

Take care.

Paul, your songs always make me look at my music from a different perspective. Being a "groove motivated" guy in general, I am always looking for the melody, hook and attraction when I produce. The patience of your production puts my mind at ease, lets me know that music is "all things"...I love this one.

Hi Chris....
I admire musicians who put melody to the backing tracks. I hear melodies and arrange the backing to those. Sometimes, as per my last 50 or so mixes, I miss out the melody altogether!!! My head is full of unrecorded melodies that just don't see the light of day as they are not in the slightest bit 'Ambient' or even 'New Age'. One day I'll put them down in one form or another.

Most of my time with these pieces is spent putting the arrangement of sounds together, sometimes taking up to 15 different versions to get right. It's a nightmare occasionally.

Take care.

Hi K.....
It's the darkness before the light, hopefully. Order comes from chaos, eventually, or at least a more orderly form of chaos.

Things are looking good for me but my dad's fading into dementia and things are pretty bleak for him as he know's that he's slowly losing his grip on reality and there's no way back.

Take care.

Intensity
is easily measured in this song. The pacing is delicious. Your choice of synths really adds to the textural nature of this piece.

Thank you for letting me download :)

Hi Papag....
Your comments give me heart. Sometimes dispair encroaches and I hope that this does not put any listener off of my soundscapes. I've been pleasantly surprised that so many have thought to leave a comment or two. It has, all of it, made my day.

Take care.

I loved reading your message in the description! No truer words.........

I love the gentle yet insistent pulse that propels this. Proof things need not be loud to be intense!

Hi Alack....
I've had problems with forums on this and other sites and so I tend to stand back from jumping in, if I can say that??!! This site is a concentrated microcosm of the world macrocosm we live and breath in. I think if it is treat that way then all will be well. Not perfect but well. We all have lessons to learn in life and interacting with others.

I enjoyed putting this mix together.

Take care.
